Keep hiring outsourced labor, you get what you pay for

@3ekw+1uTSvXSl, obviously you haven't worked in IT. You can be utmost careful when implementing a change, following the direction exactly as provided by the vendor, but sh*t happen. You could be doing the same upgrade 100 times all successfully but this one time, something did go as expected. Another word, you can't control everything so how do you know it's "someone" made a mistake? Don't blame on someone if you don't have the facts.

@2say+1uTSvXSl, yes, but not this change freeze. That blackout change freeze starts in early November.

Seems no one does Q/A anymore. See what happened with CrowdStrike. Once upon a time there was a dedicated Q/A group. Now coders do their own Q/A. Really bad idea.

Global Change Freeze happens for two reasons. 1) When someone sc--ws something up in a major way that costs the business money. Someone skipped reviews and safety checks. Had someone done their job it wouldn't have broken. These happen a few times each year.

  1. Freezes also happen around major retail events like holidays. Anything that may slow or stop a store from taking money for sales during those peak retail periods will lose the business a lot of money. It could upset clients and they might switch to another company.

A change in IT caused a outage to a customer, they pumping the breaks on changes to sort out the change process.

They blamed it on a news generating outage but I'm not buying it. Nothing on the news for Voyix. Only Verizon, BofA, and PSN were on the news last week due to outages. The witting is on the wall, folks!
