Why is ecommerce such an abysmal failure? Is it assortment, leaders, or both?
I mean, any gains are from panic buyers (sanitizer, wipes). Not actual talent or strategy IMO. How many ways can you sell paper and ink? Staples was #2, now it's not even in the top 20.
And when you take away the contract sales from .com, not even in the top 100.
How horrible does it have to get before the get rid of ineffective people at the mid to top levels.
Look at our colleagues in ecom. Do they look like the are doing anything other than updating pictures?
