Thread regarding Sears layoffs

Seritage

So if I'm correct, the last 2 Seritage stores are 2 Sears in PR? Are they closing? Would certainly make sense, since the latest 3 closings, were all Seritage stores.

Ah, that's perfect. Thank you very much! So it appears being Seritage or not has no bearing on the closures, then. As all remaining Kmarts are no-Seritage, it seems the closings will continue. Cool!

Here is a link from the round that was announced in February. There were about 10 Kmarts that were non Seritage.

@2qjm+18mSPJH2 But were any of those closure on the Kmart side, non-seritage? The only ones I can think of, as someone posted below, were the ND & NH Kmarts. The other closures seem to have been all Seritage (EDGEWATER MD, COLUMBIA PA, MCKINLEYVILLE, RAMONA CA, etc.). Which non-seritage Kmarts besides ND/NH, closed in 2020?

There were about 40 closings back in April prior to all of the shut downs. Then a bunch of random little ones across the summer most of which were Seritage at least on the Kmart side.

You are right, The NH and ND stores were leases landlords didn't want to renew and others were Seritage who's goal was to replace the stores from the start, Eddie is to blame for a lot of things but this years store closures none of them he had a choice over.

Besides Minot ND and West Lebanon NH, Minneapolis was another non-Seritage Kmart closing in 2020.

How many non-Seritage Kmart closings did we have in 2020? Anybody Know? Not many, I would venture. off the top of my head, I can only recall Minot ND, and Lebanon NH. The rest were mostly Seritage, right? Even this latest round (on the Kmart side) was all Seritage.

Those are the stores that are only open because they haven't found a tenant to take over the space.

They closed 12 of the 17, Last Summer, seems to me, they are just banging out the last 5 now (although only 3 of those 5 have been proven so far, Mayguez, Bayamon, and Big Bear Lake CA).
