Thread regarding DXC Technology layoffs

Why illusory promises?

To allow employees to get their hopes up that they might get a raise and then lie to them is really awful. I thought of staying here for a while longer, but after this I changed my mind. If anything can undermine employee morale and sink a company, it is dishonesty and lies.

In the last Townhall for I heard that rasies are being uploaded to Workday by the 1st week in August 2021. The managers who submitted increases don't know if their recommendations were modified or not, so they can't inform any of us what our increases may or may not be.

Guess it's another carrot put in front of all of us,. I for one has stopped being productive till I find out what my increase (or not) is. The bad news is increases will be less than $1,201 a year and that is not keeping up with the 18+% inflation rate of my last increase. It's a start , but too little to late!

It shouldn't take over a week to upload this data as this has been in the works since last year.

as an ex DXC people manager (I left last year) I can tell you why DXC makes promises it doesn't keep. Its for one simple reason, they KNOW they get away with it and many of the employees will not leave.

It my time at DXC as a people manager there were 2 types of employees. Those that for VERy good reasons made a lot of noise about overwork, pay rises and not being happy but somehow never left (unless they were WFR'd). The other type of employee voted with their feet and moved on to better things after a few years.

In my opinion there we 70% unhappy but did nothing and 30% that made their decision. That is why time and again, year after year DXC can do nothing and get away with it because the vast majority of the employees can't or won't (for their own reasons) do anything.

This is tipping point for me. 10 years I’ve given to this place got top grade for 6 of them. There’s just too much opportunity for someone with my skill sets to ignore now I literally cannot justify staying. Can’t help thinking about that speech Mike gave on town hall a while back. “If you don’t like us, if you’re unhappy then leave!” Wow imagine putting that to a family scenario where a member is unhappy. You fight for them you ask them what’s wrong and how you can help you don’t tell them we don’t want you. Horrific advice. So guess what I’m off to get a pay rise and I’m off to get better benefits and worst part is that because my entire team/dept was obliterate in the great culling of 2020 anyone who actually really knew me at this place has gone already. Like Rambo said “I’m the last one sir” I’ll go quietly into the open arms of their competitors.

Why illusory promises? Simple. The employees have proven time and time again they will not kick up a stink about it. Every time you get passed over for a merit raise and remain there, you are sending a strong signal to upper management that you will tolerate the status quo.

There is really only one way to deal with this. Do exactly as DXC says to vis. you career: Be responsible for your career, find another job and quit. Chances are, the job you will quit for has better benefits, so merely moving to another company will give you a substantial pay rise. But you should ld be able to negotiate better, especially if you've been at DXC for some time. Th market has moved on, so getting a decent raise should be possible.

The power is literally in your hands. Your knowledge is transferrable, and walks out the door with you.

Then, who cares about the deceit of M2? You'll be in a better place with more ethical leadership.

Folks, if you're still at DXC then ask yourself "Why am I still here?"

You won't get a raise
Your manager doesn't give a s--t, cause they haven't had a raise for years either
Your client(s) hate you, cause DXC gives s--t service
You have no career prospects
You may get WFR'd with the lowest payout they can get away with
You may / may not have a relatively easy work life

Based on the above, should you stay or should you go??
(I went)

Fasten your seatbelts for 2022Q1 results announcement on 4 Aug. How good do you think they will be considering the vast array of recent cost cutting decisions? Another book to bill of 1.3 while top line continues in free fall? And the bottom line? Red ink again? [D]eception e[X]ceeds [C]atastrophy?

Ladies and Gentlemen, you've seen the great illusionist Mikey perform the magic 'cutting the staff in half trick' and the 'make the bonus disappear' trick and now we'll finish with some urban street magic. In his hands the great Mikey is holding 9 WFR cards. There, he's showing the camera. You can all see. However, you will notice one of them has your name on it with an incredibly huge 2% pay rise showing. Now who wouldn't want to stay to see the end of the show for a chance to win that? Exactly. Now, once HR has shuffled the cards (to show there are no tricks) you will be asked to pick one. Remember, you have a one in ten chance of picking the pay rise. Now just remain seated as we put this blindfold on you. We don't want it too unfair, do we?

Stop being a turkey voting for Thanksgiving
In DXC, you get a raise if you leave or threaten to leave.

No-one gets out here alive

unfortunately if you stay more than a couple of years you accept the dishonesty and lies as part of the deal with working for DXC.

Get out while you can !!!
