Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Son, Imma Disappoint

Will Hock Tan be disappointed when he realizes how many developers only write new code that doesn't work, will never work on old code, will never fix bugs, and claim they no longer work on any code they wrote?

These comments are amazing. Vmware is a joke and about to enter the real world and a substantial amount of the employees - particularly the HEAVY middle management of uselessness - are in for a real shock that you actually have to work and produce viable and scalable solutions.

I honestly cannot wait.

If there's anything that Broadcom has in spades (aside from cash) it's engineers that know how to support things.

One whiff of this sort of rubbish and they'll mainframers straightening them whippersnappers right out. The core of CA-7 was written in 1980, ACF2 dates back to 1978.

VMware has been living in fantasy land.

It's not a fantasy land. It's a bottomless bog of incompetence, where the managers know nothing about how software should be developed, where they listen to the people who don't tell them the truth, and where the upper management and BOD are only interested in bowing at the alter of Dell's hegemony & money.

They care nothing about the employees, the product, the company, nor the brand. They only care that they are enriched.

Try and pull that shít on any competent manager and they would slap the bejesus out of you.

VMware has been living in fantasy land.

That theme park is now closing, welcome to the real world.

will never

That should be "REFUSE TO because they are not familiar with it".
FFS, I've heard this from too many senior people to count.
