If you are over 45 years old and you are working from home, you are very much at risk for a layoff.
There are sooooo many better companies out there that do not lay people off as much as Raytheon.
I worked there for 23 years and was laid off without any dignity. The company I work for now has so much more respect for their employees!
Update. Karen. I hope you're eyes are doing better.
They should start with the folks that work from home, date each other - regardless of marital status, drink/smoke during work hours. Let the people that actually work, keep their jobs.
Bad times a'coming in the toxic hole.
I hope Karen's eyes are doing better.
I just heard that a former director had his entire operation shifted to another area and report to a new director. The old director essentially left without a function. So what happened to him? Did he get laid off (should have been since he is making 6 figures and should saved money)? No he was not laid off even though his job was eliminated. A new position was created for him so he could ki keep his job. I though the days if saving managers were over but apparently not🤦♂️
This is UTC bolstering stock price. I have heard the decisions were made much higher than our direct managers.
They are letting seasoned, cleared folks go. In my area we were direct charge and already down by two people. We needed more help, not less.
It almost feels like UTC is getting rid of all of the Raytheon Aerospace work.
I don't know how they plan to support the work with 1/2 the people.
What? Moving to AZ?
2026 North Texas. Ray Tech no more.
Everyone please read this!
This guy got laid off at a Texas site, and won over $17 million!
The jury found that Raytheon did not even abide by their own layoff policy.

To the poster who stated that the legacy Raytheon would not "do this". I assume meaning implement mass layoffs. Trust me, as a legacy Raytheon former employee, layoffs happened All.THE.TIME! Some were worse than others. So what's happening now is still on par with the Raytheon way.
2024 More layoffs here in the 2nd and 4th quarters.
Their way around age discrimination is that they lay off a younger worker that is equivalent to the older worker. Ik now cause when I got laid off the paperwork and HR guy mentioned that when I brought up the age thing.
I feel for anyone having to grab their ankles from Ray Tu-d. But, this is a sign of things to come. Around this time is when large companies will be refinancing their debt with a large portion coming due in 2024 and 2025. Refinancing now at higher interest rates, means cutbacks in employment. You don't have to believe me, just Google search corporate debt refinancing in 2024. Corporate debt peaks in 2025 and trails off for the next 3 years after. Meaning, if you can get through 2024, and 2025 you'll be in good shape.
WHATS UP.?? IS I'M HAVE BLIND. I HAVE TO SEE WHAT I AM TYPING. SERIOUSLY. I AM NOT SHOUTING. VERY SORRY YOU GET UPSET TOO EASILY.
Stop shouting, you are hurting my eyes. Seriously, what’s up with the caps lock?
PREVIOUS REPLY JUST MENTIONED BOOTLICKER AND BROWN NOSER. I APPLIED THOSE TERMS TO THE LEMMON AVE PEOPLE TRANSFERRING TO MCKINNEY THRU OUT 2023. LEADING UP TO THE LEMMON AVE CLOSING IN DECEMBER 2023. I WONDER IF THOSE FORMER LEMMON AVE PEOPLE GOT THEIR LAYOFF NOTICES IN MCKINNEY LAST WEEK. IT DON'T SEEM RIGHT. TO LAYOFF GOOD MCKINNEY PEOPLE. AND KEPT THOSE LEMMON AVE TRANSFERS. THAT TRANSFERRED TO MCKINNEY THRU OUT 2023. LEADING UP TO THE LEMMON AVE CLOSING IN DECEMBER 2023.
ABSOLUTELY IT WAS AGE DISCRIMINATION. GO AFTER THEM IN THE COURTS. GET A GROUP TOGETHER. THAT WERE LAID OFF. TO GO AFTER THEM. BEFORE THE LEMMON AVE. PLANT OFFICIALLY SHUT DOWN LAST DECEMBER 2023. THEY WERE SENDING LEMMON AVE PEOPLE TO MCKINNEY THRU OUT 2023. TO MAKE IT LOOK UN-NOTICED. AND THEY WERE WHAT THE PREVIOUS REPLY HAD SAID. BOOTLICKER AND BROWN-NOSER WERE AT LEMMON AVE. THAT GOT TO TRANSFER TO MCKINNEY THRU OUT 2023. TO MAKE IT LOOK UN-NOTICED. LEADING UP TO LEMMON AVE FINAL CLOSIBG IN DECEMBER 2023.
In my decision group, there were 3 people 50+ years old and 20 under 50. 2 of the 3 were laid off and 0 of the 20 were not. Can you say age discrimination?
"IT can't operate"...That's what she said!!! 😏
THAT CEO IS GONE IN MAY. I GUESS IT IS RETIRING. BECAUSE IT Can't Ever Operate.
UNITED TECHNICAL ISSUES, UNITED TOXICNOLOGIES.
Will the bootlicker and the brown-noser survive until the next round? The maggots tend to survive until the bitter end.
Any in Andover?
The legacy Raytheon would not do this. RTX and new Raytheon leaders are going to destroy the legacy brand. RTX and new leadership at Raytheon don’t understand the value of the positions and the talent they let go. Most of the positions were direct charge and bid into the proposals. So, they are just greedy and want profit at the expense of everyone’s mental health. You can’t let go that many talented OPM and P-M positions without major impacts to the business. The people left are going to be majorly stressed out and most likely find jobs elsewhere.
Did any Finance employees/managers/directors get laid off in El Segundo?
Got laid off on Wednesday. My manager gave me a heads up in advance. I was told it was because my clearance was taking too long to be approved.
Less then %1 affected by the RIF across all sites and functions nation wide
Bleak times ahead at the moribund dinosaur. The smart man marches out now under his own steam.
Looks like Tucson is going to be hit:

@2sfz+1qWWV4UP thank you. I am still waiting my severance package in the mail so I am not sure what it will be yet. There was no warning whatsoever. All the department leads did not find out about the layoffs until the night prior as well & they had no say in it (which is odd because they usually do from past layoffs).
El segundo had over 100 laid off, did anyone else get fired?
@2nmc+1qWWV4UP sorry to hear that.
How much severance did you get?
They didn't give you the WARN notice period?
Yup, I got laid off yesterday. No warning or anything. I only got a 'tag-up' meeting on my calendar for yesterday and that's when I got the news... was escorted out right after not being able to say goodbye or able to collect my things. They're shipping everything though... felt very dehumanizing. This was the Woburn, MA location. I worked there for 6 years! Very, very upset...
A good number of Ops and SCM were let go in El Segundo. People working direct on programs were laid off. Pretty sudden.
hybrid but mostly remote employee here based out of Mass, as an indirect employee under Operation and Supply Chain. Received my zoom 'tagup' on Monday around 3pm EST. Was not given a reason outside of 'cost reductions' still awaiting the severance package info from HR.
North Texas and Tucson is what I have heard so far.
Hey forget about it.. Uncle Phil is gonna make Raytheon a lean mean mediocre machine.
Round#1 impacting multiple sites across the country.
Tucson was on a huge hiring spree last year around March...if that's the case I'm glad I didn't make the move...
