It sure sounds and looks like the next round of layoffs is coming. I don’t know about others but had a Senior leader tell me they were leaving because the next round was coming. I am beginning to wonder how close we are to the next round. Does anyone have any details?

19 new hires (FTEs) or are they going to be vendor/contractors/offshore positions?

Interesting…. I knew this would happened… 19 nurses wow… so will Centene rehire the Nurses they just let go or hire new nurses with lesser pay talk about nurse discrimination.
I was laid off with many other utilization nurses, the team I was working with I stayed in touch with a current employee and they are waaaay behind on reviews and hiring for 19 nurses. Talk about backwards thinking. Thankful I was let go.
Well that's just great!! Interesting there are so many new positions after laying off thousands of people that may have been more than qualified to fill or learn those positions to fill but yeah...YAY Centene!!
Centene is many different companies. We just got 12 new positions approved in our department. No hiring freeze here.
It’s absolutely coming. A hiring freeze is coming shortly that coincides with reviews. If any bonus/raise if offered it won’t
So to what you’ve seen before and may be bundled with your severence package. The names are already selected in affected areas. Likely already selected as part of the last round.
If you work in a market with low enrollment, poor quality scores, or one that just paid to settle a lawsuit, good luck.
Drew said there would be additional layoffs in the 1st quarter. It was announced right before the October layoff meetings with PLs. This company has lost billions of revenue due to State Medicaid prescription fraud, revenue loss due to plummeted STARs ratings. Do your research so you can make an informed decision. I would not be comfortable with this company. Eventually, you can no longer be the big fish in the pond. Best of luck to all those who choose to stay with a poorly mismanaged company. The writing is on the wall.

There are no further layoffs, until there are…they aren’t going to tip their hand to anyone. No further layoffs today? Tomorrow? Next week? Next month?
