My team is more cheerful and productive than ever. Layoffs are producing miracles! Some guys even acquired specific skills overnight, so they can fill in for booted teammates. Of course, they do that along with their own tasks, in which they’ve been stellar. I mean, they were always good, but now they have been consistently outperforming. I enjoy my work like never before. More layoffs, please!

I think the OP is just joking here. Of course we know that morale at Cisco is all time LOW.
This is a great example of what is wrong with our society today. They take at face value what they read. There is no way in he-l, the OP was serious with this post given the morale at Cisco.
Suggestion to get around people's inability to recognize Sarcasm or Satire -- Add #Satire, #Sarcasm to your post.
They still won't get it, esp 60% of the people left at Cisco, but at least the other 40% of us will get it. :)

The ethics at Cisco are going down the tubes...
Verbal abuse, violent conniptions, lying, stealing, and other ethics issues have been part of Cisco's culture for more than 20 years. The most recent layoff wasn't out of scale with many others over 23 years and the far less than obvious selection process also remains consistent.
Why is it everyone comes here every layoff pretending this is the first time any of this happened? People not figuring this out would be a great criteria for layoff candidates.

Is it sad that no one gets sarcasm? I thought the OP was hilarious. I just love picking up a new (obsolete, outdated) skill that’s worthless to my resume because Cisco LR’d the person doing that job for 10-15 yrs because they’re too expensive, & they expect us younger, less experienced workers to know how to use those antique skills no one but Cisco uses. Go team!
