What a clown this guy is. We need to "restructure" his salary.

Things started to really go downhill around 2003-2004, when tons of new stores were built and opened. I noticed that there was some strong training at most of these stores pre-opening, but then they were kind of left to manage themselves, especially if they were a distance from regional offices. This kind of isolation IS NOT GOOD when you have a corrupt STL, but I've never seen it go back to how it used to be. The new generation of people working for this company could give a shit about organics, or GMOs, or how so many people fought the USDA and the government agencies that did not want change. They'd rather play angry birds on their phones.
A few people care, it's just not enough. The new ones want a paycheck, and they'll go down the street to Aldi if they can make more money. Plus, we're creating no incentives for part-timers to want to work here over the competition anyway. A discount card? oooohhhh... 20% off really overpriced food isn't impressive when you can get the SAME THING down the street for less than what you'd pay with a discount at WF.
Saw a lot of good people leave this past september, some old-timers who still believed they were working for the best american grocery store ever. I want to believe that still, but reality is so different in 2015. I kind of wish they'd go ahead and lay me off in january.
I'll go for months without seeing my STL, I'm not complaining about that as I don't really want to see him. But how they justify paying these people obscene amounts of money is just baffling to me. #WFMteammember #TeamWFM
Well, even the showing up part is fudgy. Haven't seen my STL in weeks. He's not on LOA either, just doesn't come in, or maybe he will but not for a full shift.
"He worked his way up." LOL That is freakin' hilarious. That's the problem with management in many companies. The guy who stocked the shelved the fastest in 1986 is now permanently entitled and never has to compete for his position or justify his salary, bonuses and options. He left a legacy of horrible disorganization and nepotism in the South which meant he was now qualified to move to another region as RP. Once you join the executive club, you never have to compete for anything. All you have to do is show up.
Why entitled? He worked his way up...
Allshouse is an arrogant, smug, entitled, piece of trash. He's pure management material, as for as this corporation is concerned. #WFMteammember
RE: Senegal. Thanks for the correction. His conduct and demeanor is not an insult to anyone else no matter where he's from. I wasn't being critical of his birthplace, I was being critical of HIM and the company for promoting him. Just want to get that straight. Personally I don't give a crap whether he's from Senegal, Sudan, Slovenia or Sarasota. It's his arrogance that I object to, as well as the fact that the company obviously granted him a top leadership role with zero vetting or qualifications. And he uses that phony rags-to-riches story to con others into believing that his rapid ascent was due solely to merit and not other factors. I had no idea his father was an ambassador but it doesn't surprise me if that's indeed the case.
Omar is from Senegal very far away from central Africa. It will be an insult to the well meaning people of central Africa to be put in the same category as that loser. That guy has never known poverty as his father was some ambassador and why he started as a dishwasher shocks me. He never took advantage of all the education opportunities?
In the MA he refuses to build new stores within major cities. He loves the suburbs and is only building new stores in huge strip malls right beside walmarts and targets. Whole Foods got its initial success by embracing urban environments that other major chains wouldn't go. Now they are just filing in line and trying to be something they are not from his leadership.
Oh yes, he's creepy as hell. Omar is their figurehead for global diversity. The guy is a condescending douchebag who issues pointless edicts and genuflects about what he likes and doesn't like based on who the hell knows what. Rather than actually support and promote hardworking, competent people of color who bust their asses they found some random dishwasher apparently descended from central African royalty, who never fails to tell us his rags to riches story. He tells it so often that people just roll their eyes. Yes, Omar, we know you started out as a dishwasher in MA and magically became yet another anointed grand poobah, mysteriously becoming RVP for reasons no one can logically identify. In other words, he probably had something on someone or promoted himself as some kind of highly visible ambassador representing the company's phony globalist positioning about changing the world. It's what happens when bullshit itself occupies a leadership role. But he looks after his own. I have several shining examples of cronyism that I will save for later. One good point about Omar is that he's a godsend to our airline industry as he's accumulated record frequent flyer miles. Unfortunately, he's fabulous wealthy...at all of our expense.
When you seem him, be sure to thank him for promoting Omar Gaye. I would call Omar a Third World dictator but that would be insulting to Third World dictators. But I digress. Omar put a huge plaque in the 2nd floor cafe area at one store honoring "Scott's Kids"....HELLO! There is no Scott's Kids Foundation, it's the Whole Kids Foundation. Under Scott, regional arrogance and ineptitude ran wild and store renovations took a back seat to his bonuses. Many stores looked shabby, tired and gross. He oversaw the horrible planning for the shoddily constructed Charlotte store which features a wonderful 7-story parking deck on the same block. And get this, when people park in that garage they can't directly access the store entrance. It's like a Taj Mahal with issues, and it took him about twelve years just to put that ONE ridiculously costly store in the second largest metro (and one of the wealthiest) in the South! Publix came in and built like 11 stores in the Charlotte metro in 3 years.
Surely it will be answered at the next Town Hall. They're taking the tough questions next time.
In the new GIG it's also spelled incorrectly. Who knows what the correct spelling actually is?
whoa you're right about his name. it's spelled Allhouse in the older GIG book. I thought his name was Allshouse? which one is correct? surely they fixed it in the new GIG.
He's on the Ken Meyer level of management. What an absolute pile of trash. #WFMteammember
At least he's sending out a warning e-mail to the MA, so we don't have to pretend that we're not looking for a job somewhere else.
Truly.. I am to the point where I just go to work to hear the latest news from the titanic. Everyday is a new adventure in bad management... How these moron " leaders " have ever convinced themselves that they are actually worthy of telling anyone what to do is beyond me . I'm shocked they can dress and feed themselves , let alone run a company.
At least spell your name correctly in the GIG book. Who exactly are you Scott? Is this a legal tactic to avoid any responsibility for your actions?
