Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

I keep running into conversations that UK\Belfast will take a hit.

Anyone have any insight on this?

Hiring like crazy doesn't mean the location is safe from cuts.
Citi never acts in a joined up manner.
Belfast is a relatively cheap location compared to London. It is less top heavy with D and MD roles.

Belfast is hiring like crazy, so I find this unlikely. In fact it is a location of default choice from a location strategy perspective within EMEA.

Post ID: @3sob+1tIlFj64 The MDs and Ds are $ucking on the Citi T3ET like leeches !!! At least Goldman kicks them out after several bonus cycles to prevent leeches like these! Then the Ex-GS MDs and Ds come over to Citi to do the same !

I hope what's cooking in Belfast is a steak in the mudders club. I had a meal when visiting there last year and I will never forget it y'all.

Something is cooking in Belfast! and the noise is getting louder by the day. Now the question is who is the target? the hard working employees or the rotten MDs?

Post ID: @2jym+1tIlFj64 I agree it's about pure greed. But turn tge tables and put yourself in their place. It's also about human nature. If you're making minimum $300,000 to 7 or even 8 figures each year, there's more money to be made and you still want and are physically able to work, wouldn't you keep working to rake in more dough ?? I know I would so that I have a cushion for my older years to prevent my money from running out ! These Citi dinosaurs are blood-su-king the company, shareholders and other employees dry !

Post ID: @2jqs+1tIlFj64 : you are either trolling or your IQ is lower than the room temperature. D/MD employees who collected bonuses for years have solved their financial problems unlike young associates/VPs who are just getting on the property ladder. That is why for instance Goldman kicks out partners after several bonus seasons :P

Well I guess you're more special than the people you want to get out of your way.

2jym+1tIlFj64 because I have not paid off my mortgage, my children's college and have a 3mln pension pot, how about that?

2jym+1tIlFj64 Why don't you quit to allow an up and coming college grad your spot? Selfish!

1gla+1tIlFj64 London is bloated. Many people at D/MD level need to retire to allow younger people to grow. How can you still need money after 10-15 MD-level bonus seasons? Pure greed.

The UK has already taken a huge hit at D and MD level. I've seen some units with over half of them canned. How much more is necessary?
