Intel capital and m&a groups?

Are we safe? Didn’t hear about cuts to these areas. Whew

Your team has an assignment. You are to conduct an analysis of every acquisition Intel executed since year 1998 (just before the Internet bubble). Determine the net present value of each acquisition accounting for deal price, integration expenses, layoff packages, future earnings and expenses of the operations and then any unwind or divestiture costs or proceeds. If you are able to show that any value was created above Intel's cost of capital, why then we can meet for a 1-1 and a coffee and discuss whether a single person should be spared. Good luck.

Doesn’t take a financial professional to take a look at Intel’s Q3 report and immediately understand that no one at the company, up to and including Pat, is “safe” over the next 24 months.

@2jgc pipe dreams of an intel of the future consisting of only bean counters and consultants

M&A may become more necessary when it becomes MAD (mergers, acquisitions and DIVESTITURES). Dumping failing units may be a cash source moving forward.

Capital, what capital is does Intel have left ?

M&A the only acquisition that made sense was GF, but now Intel is so FUBAR no mergers could possible save this company

Maybe next time we can save all the travel and due diligence and just have a giant bonfire of cash in the courtyard of RNB.

M&A at Intel has been mystifying for over 30 years.

There has been nothing constructive from that effort and many examples of value destruction.

How many of Intel's acquisitions have been successful? That should tell you how "safe" you are.
