Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

What's stopping you from quitting?

Right this moment, what's preventing you from leaving the place you hate? I'm genuinely interested.

Management letting us slide anymore. Why quit when you can work from home and really do very little all while watching a train wreck in real time. And they pay you twice a month for it. Me and my peers are riding this out until we get our 60 days notice fr

No one cares here anymore. Everyone, including managers and our department leaders knows what is coming. We are not held to any metrics or goals, do not have to go to meetings, and can do whatever and however much we want. Log in working from home, do a few hours of work a day, BS with co-workers on private group chats, surf the web and do a little Amazon shopping, work another 45 minutes, BS with co-workers some more, log off, and collect a check every two weeks. Until they lay us off it is a pretty good gig with no real responsibility or stress. If your area is not like this then I don't blame you for leaving but for us we'd be fools to leave on our own considering the above is our typical day. We plan to enjoy it while it lasts.

Enjoying it while it lasts. Now that all motivation is gone I simply work minimally and it isn’t all that bad. It took me too long to realize that being an overachiever here is a waste of time but now I got it! Hard work gets you nothing here since TG.

Holding out a little bit of hope for severance!

Allstate is good at selling the idea Stockholm syndrome. They make it seems as though your skills won’t translate. The other reason is that Allstate employees are rather risk adverse and timid. They should bolt sooner rather than later though. Things look shaky at best.

I stay cause it's easy alls we do is sit at the front desk and "screen" cough cough in the call center. The "rover" position is basically a 30 min break for us. Real easy gig for us peeps in security brah

Just more proof that our company has way too many whining sniveling babies that complain but won’t act on their concerns. Here’s an idea- stay quiet and do your jobs. As you can see, crying solves nothing.

Lets give leadership more time for Transformative Growth (TG.) A fully executed TG will help BIG BLUE exceed goals and expectations. If we can all lean in, we can make Allstate great again.

My spouse was just forced to retire. Not knowing yet what their full salary will be is keeping me for potentially taking a pay cut at a new job. I am looking though.

I was worried about my age (57) keeping me from getting hired. That didn’t happen and now I earn $10K more with Progressive. To be fair though, I didn’t have decades of tenure. At that point, salary might be hard to match.
And PTO is better with Allstate, that is, if they deign to let you use it on the days you want!

Most other companies in my area are all in office now and I like working from home. Plus I have 18 years invested and hoping for possible severance when my area gets moved to vendor later this year or next. I hate it here but the pros just slightly outweigh the cons for my area.
