I’ve been here for five years. When I joined I was overjoyed. This was one of my top three companies to work for. Things weren’t great at the start but I gave Intel the benefit of the doubt. And I kept doing that for five years as I watched things deteriorate in every imaginable (and unimaginable) way. I think I’m done. I don’t regret the years I’ve spent here, but I know for a fact that I could have been much better off and could have furthered my career better somewhere else.

After two years I have learned how to be effective despite the culture but I worry that adapting to Intel may be detrimental to my career. Even having Intel on my resume may have a long-term effect on my career.

I have enough data saying that 70% leave by 5 years. 80% of them don't su-k. I have also seen some of the worst leave.... I'm not talking about some bs divisions either. Intel is not a filter that retains top talent. It is a numbers game that Intel is losing. Can't speak for the manufacturing half.... Put another way there is plenty ex-Intel talent at fabless companies. The talent exceeds average Intel talent. The fabless companies are doing better than Intel.....
That patch of green grass over there? Go for it and don't bother coming back. Don't let the door hit you on your way out.
You joined at the wrong time, the company has been in steady decline since ACT 2016. BK and MR etc poisoned the company.
Welcome to the "should've worked for a different company" club. I was there for two decades and it was great in the beginning, but the company slowly deteriorated right in front of my eyes and they laid me off in favor of lower cost less experienced people.
I wanted to stay until retirement age, but it didn't work out that way for me. I wish I could go back in time for a do over.
Many others in the same boat.
