Thread regarding Sears layoffs

How many people still work at Hoffman estates

The article about Hoffman says that with Covid most people are working from home or a mix of home and office. So how many people still actually report to Hoffman Estates for work on a daily basis?

Also we know there are only 6 Kmarts left ---but what is the most recent count of Full line Sears stores that are still open?

Prayers for our LP officers who do a dangerous job each day for a little over minimum wage.

no one lets merchandise walk out the door to take a loss ;they let t go to avoid a shooting. PS there is nothing to shoplift anymore at Sears. No mob robberies either. nothing to grab.

I defended the company against the Latin Kings in the Chicago area as a loss prevention associate, and then was later deployed to Puerto Rico due to a power struggle with the Latin Kings there.

No one is going to pat your back or built up your over inflated ego. Get off your high horse you want-a-be cop. What’s wrong, couldn’t pass the police exam?

I worked for loss prevention from 2005-2015. A local police officer estimated I was responsible for taking $1.1 million in narcotics off the street during this time period.

Loss prevention is partly there to monitor all these associates that are milking the company dry.

This is nothing new. The company has essentially let product walk out the store so they could use it as a loss for years. I remember when we had what looked like a Russian bizarre on the side walk (aka sidewalk “sale”). All that clearance apparel was out front for anyone to take as they pleased. Of course we never bothered to have anyone watch the merchandise. Manager literally told me to my face that he couldn’t care less if the cr-p was stolen, at least we wouldn’t have to deal with it anymore. 🙄

@1kak+1eob6evg Why would they even want loss prevention personnel? Wouldn't it be better to have the junk ripped off so it could be listed as a loss expense for tax purposes rather than have the old stuff lying on the shelves year after year collecting dust?

I think Eddie works from home, the other 2 go into Hoffman Estates on Tuesdays to clear the messages from voice mail and empty the mailbox.

It doesn't matter any more that how many are still working there.

40 to 50 from loss prevention? Give me a break. As if a broke / broke down company like Kmart/Sears would have more loss prevention agents than the number of stores they have!!! Laughable!!!

40 to 50 from loss prevention report to Hoffman daily. Not sure about other departments.

Once an iconic superstore with locations worldwide, Kmart is continuing to wind down its operations by closing most of its remaining locations and leaving just six stores in the continental U.S. open by the end of the year, CNN Business reports.
