Got some hints that I will be laid off by the end of this month. What is the package they give in last round? Very excited for my turn finally. Bye bye Allscripts.

The salary will be reinstated at 9/1. 9/15 is the first paycheck date to reflect that. So be prepared for big layoffs by the end of this month. Any input on the package we will receive? Allshits will pay us the package basing on the NORMAL salary or the one after paycut?

Any rumblings out there on whether or not cuts may occur before the salary reinstatements on 9/15?

Any news on potential layoffs this week? The 08/10 one looks more like an open ceremony.

Right on to the poster mentioning the age factor. Get rid of the older, and more expensive, employees and do one or more of the following: ship work overseas, hire interns, or new college grads. Keep a few folks with domain knowledge as supervisors so that they newbies won't screw things up too badly. I've seen this movie too many times to count. It's right of of the modern corporate playbook.

Yes, it's like they say "It is easier to get a job when you still have one". No one likes to tell a potential employer that they've been singled out for a layoff. It raises too many red flags.

Software companies, like Allscripts, will typically hire additional employees when they are needed for new development projects (enhancements) and then have a large layoff when the project(s) are completed, depending on how much revenue they are bringing it. If there is a downturn they will retain their more experienced people with the domain knowledge to mentor junior and new hires and help the support staff as needed with technical help. In these environments folks need to have an honest discussion with themselves to ask "how valuable" or "expendable" am I. And then decide on the best course of action for themselves. Do I stay or do I go?

I read something a while back that that there was something called the Rule of 70. Take a persons age, add number of years with a company, that number hits 70 you’re a goner. Read that sometime after 2010. My out was at age 52 with 20 years. So I stayed too long and got lucky. Got to make my own calls and no complaints. I bolted Eclipsys where the writing is on the wall. MDRX is way worse for employees these days, But my belief is there is some sort of new equation for cutting folks making this a new world.

This has been going on forever. The deer in the headlights thing. Got out out many years ago as the starting trend evident. Never regretted it. Did better on the outside then ever could have if stayed. Made triple the money for over 12 years. If over 50 today look for something else. Real Estate based on what’s going on seems smart. Under 50 catch another company. But once you hit 50 you need to think different. And never be deer in the headlights. I am now hitting 65 so have dealt with all this.

Agree with the “we stay too long” comment. Ready to take my all my PTOs next week and say goodbye to Allshits. I have enough!

@ID: @4can+16nUQtUG: Agree with you if you are open under 50 years of age. Some of us don’t have that luxury. There are so many people that have left through the years, voluntarily and involuntarily, that say the one mistake they made here was they stayed way too long. Gone are the days where you are highly appreciated because of long term loyalty to the company. Yes, times have changed. The constant fear of when will you be on “that list” is not a great morale booster.

Allscripts employees you need to start moving onto other companies. The sooner you find a new job the sooner you can just quit and essentially stick it to leadership. How you want to handle exit that is up to you. You don't owe them or your clients anything. It is Allscripts duty to insure customers are supported properly. This doesn't mean you give back money you have rightfully earned... Get hired someplace else....take your vacation time at allscripts, then send a VM you quit on what should have been your first day back... Some of us have done this... Rewarding in many aspects ...

typical for Al_ hits, PB holds a peppy team call hoping no one is the wiser of what's about to take place, then drops the Axe thinking no one will hear about it since we're all working from home. Management doesn't think anyone deserves pay above $100K because they're arrogant and don't value our work. In their mind, we're all replaceable with lower paid resources. PB, RP look around you. Why do you think Clients are dropping like flies. They aren't stupid.

@3dtm+16nUQtUG: That was extremely helpful information. You also identified a now-common pattern among software development corporations, where the 'leadership' is aggressively moving to off-shore jobs to the third world because it's easier to control and you get to pay less for more overtime.

Care Director is special in that the team was initially informed there would be no extension of the R&D contract for America. It led to the Bangalore team being trained in December and in March after CD lost a person with a large amount of product and database knowledge (since the developer saw the product grow from the very beginning).

Since last year, upper management informed very isolated teams this would happen. So the loss of CD isn't surprising. What is surprising is that CD management tried to retain talent by lying about job security both before COVID-19 and after COVID-19. Some developers/qa/business analysts still worked. Others did not. Ostensibly the entire CD development team is run out of Bangalore w/ very few roles in America (to my recollection maybe two or three non technical roles)

The reality is that there's a lot of other business units that will also face the same fate as Care Director if they're not sold off. LK and PB screwed up royally. If I had tea leaves I would say sooner than later other development teams will meet the same fate. Allscripts isn't out of the woods yet. It's actually just the beginning.

September will be interesting for other teams (including the teams that contribute to the overall Allscripts revenue like Sunrise and Careport).

Yes many , probably all, are working or have worked for some version of the company. One must question your experiences and years working in any company let alone Allscripts "Manipulate the stock price" through comments posted here....ROFLMAO. (really am)

Allscripts stock is majority purchased/dumped by large trading houses... The less then 1 percent by individual holders. The stock sinks as the numbers are missed and reported. Not because of posts here. What group you work for? Sounds like a non mission critical position... Cheerleader?

Wow, the whole R&D team for care director were let go? How many US employees in your team? It looks like Allscripts are starting to adjust the US/India headcount ratio by following the consulting company’s recommendations.

People in Sales and support operations were also let go this week. In typical Allscripts fashion, it has been relatively quiet, but some of the managers did have calls to let the teams know.

No reason to lie or post false info on here.

I don’t doubt there are more to come.

The US development team (QA, DB, dev) for Allscripts Care Director were let go. There is only one US PM and the director of development that is still there. Chances are they're going to be gone too.

These cuts were similar to the cuts in the fall - to get rid of senior level developers/managers/workers to trim excess fat from the budget.

One really has to wonder if the majority of posters here even work for Allscripts or work for some company that has greater interest in manipulating stock prices. Seeing so many posts indicating that no one in their area was laid off makes some of these 'chicken little sky is falling' posts a bit suspect.

I’m from the Raleigh area and haven’t heard a single person mention any layoffs. I wouldn’t think we would even have 50 people in accounting? And why are none of the people affected commenting here? Seems very odd

This was the day I was warning people of for months here. And I am sorry for everyone who lost their jobs today (because there were a lot of people let go - FULL teams in America were let go).

To be clear, there will be at least one more round before end of September

This is just the start. They need cut the compensation level to the paycut watermark before Sept 1, so 20-30% more layoffs coming.

So quick recap, yes some people were let go, no it was not even close to 10%.

I certainly don’t want to see the world burn and more of us lose our jobs at Allscripts. But, as town hall meeting goes on suggesting bringing back furloughed employees and reinstating salaries, they laid off plenty of older seasoned employees yesterday.

They’ve Also been hiring college grads to fill the positions of some of those laid off in previous rounds.

Garbage in garbage out. Including the leadership starting at the top.

Should have laid off more middle managers and directors yesterday. Hopefully that’s the Q4 round, time to get our resumes ready.

Agreed - you can usually tell when these are true or not. 10% is a drastic measure and higher ups all over the place would know about it by now w/ the massive transition

If 10% were being let go today, this thread would be lit. Given this thread is not on fire, it likely is not true. Some people just want to watch the world burn.
