The company is not military friendly! I was denied my job. I was given a performance review of a 2 while I was away on a two year deployment. I was informed by my manager that I would NOT receive a raise or bonus due to military leave. I filed a complaint with HR.... nothing. Stayed working thinking that it would get better.... it doesn't . Time to show the public exactly how this company treats their veterans!

The organization owns the VACCN contract yet doesn’t give employees Veterans Day off to celebrate the military appropriately and those who have served. I also did not see one email released internally supporting our troops and those who perished giving their lives for this country. But yet we have to sit in DEI trainings constantly and learn about pronouns.
@2hpm+1lptpbEJ - Ignorance is no excuse. There is a federal law that protects veterans while they are willing to give their life so our (mine too) can pick their religion, etc. It's amazing how everyone attitude changes when it's been almost 22 years since USA was attacked on our own soil.
The federal law states that we are to be returned as if we had never left. Follow the law... period! UHG (UHC-Optum) DID NOT follow the law.
News flash!
UHG is not employee friendly period so this isn’t surprising.
Typically you're not rated for the time when you are on leave - military, maternity, medical, etc. Only for the time you worked. If you got rated as a 2 while you were out, that is unfair, no doubt.
Bonus and raises, however, no - that was fair that you didn't get a raise for a period while you were out. But you are absolutely entitled to have your job or a comparable role available to you when you come back
@2baq+1lptpbEJ Nice comeback. You really hurt my feelings.🙄 maternity leave has nothing to do with military leave. If you have not been working at the company for two years, how can you justify a raise or bonus if you did absolutely no work for them? I’m pretty sure they’re just required to keep your job.
@1wjz+1lptpbEJ - So what you're saying is that maternity leave shouldn't be paid while they are out... You must be OGA worker.
Realistically, UHC is pay for performance. If you were not there then why do you think you would deserve a raise/bonus?
Every Veteran who has been discriminated against should file a complaint with the department of labor, USERA. The Hire Vet Medallion is a JOKE!
UHG leadership uses their DEI initiatives to show the board they are socially responsible. These programs do nothing to support military or veterans employees and continue to support and promote terrible leaders. They will use your military or veteran status for their benefit and treat you like trash.
