To @2hlg+1tFLaJEE:

This has nothing to do with Cengage being a global company. They're laying off folks and replacing them with cheaper workers. It's all about making rich people even richer. That's it.

It’s so great to watch liberals eat each other. You love everyone…..until you don’t.

Some people here are missing the entire point. The post references the ANZ conferece that happened this week, op is likely stating it was a headhunting exercise.
It has nothing to do with whatever you are referring to.

Staying on topic - HAHA at some of the most brazen, insufferable (misguided) ladder-climbers falling under the "blame" category for negative bias. Makes sense. They could never be part of a problem.

No one is a hypocrite for thinking it's a bad idea to send Content Manager jobs offshore. The work of Content Managers is editorial in nature. They work close to the content, shaping and refining the manuscript to ensure it meets the quality specs and goals for the revision. The CPMs aren't doing this--they aren't even trained to do editorial work, which is why their title is Content Project Manager. They manage the schedule, the budget, and the stakeholders. And they can be excellent at all of those tasks, but the point is that there is still a skills gap in what is needed to bring quality products to market. Cengage has shifted that editorial work to Learning Designers. However, the Learning Designers weren't hired with editorial work in mind, either. The role was intended to design learning sequences, not to vet the quality of the manuscript. Many of the current Learning Designers are thus not prepared or capable of taking on this task. And noticing these oversights doesn't make anyone a hypocrite, it makes them observant of and thoughtful about the oversights inherent in the plan for reorganization. More thoughtful than leadership, which is unfortunately par for the course at Cengage these days.

Isn't it funny that a majority of the people on here are clearly Americans, who are such hypocrites in the fact that they forget that they work for a global company.
