Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Town Hall: “Don’t chase the money”

So we are told to not chase the higher pay elsewhere but be satisfied. “Even though others are leaving for life changing salaries, don’t chase the money be happy where you are at” .

Well that’s easy to say when YOU already live in the biggest house in the neighborhood.
It’s easy to say when YOUR kids already go to the best schools. Its easy to say when everyone in YOUR family already drive the latest model cars.

For those of us who want just a little taste of that and\or are struggling to make ends meet, that’s a bitter pill to swallow to hear you say such things. It’s easy for YOU as YOU are already at the upper upper end of YOUR already inflated pay range.

It's like MDs are saying, "Only I can chase the money and you minions should not chase the money. Just be happy you have jobs you peasants!"

THIS is the problem with Citi right now, MD’s that are out of touch with reality.

“I have tons more money than you, and you are struggling but don’t worry about money.
Be like me, just don’t worry about making more money.”

This is the level of logic used to manage the company.

There was a TH where an out of touch MD was speaking about not following the money. Its easy to say when you already make top dollar. Its like having a warehouse of food and you tell your starving neighbor “you really shouldn’t be worried too much about food” .

Post ID: @2hax+1vDzD3zQ The next time the Out-of-Touch Oblivious Dod0 Birds say that during a Town Hall meeting, I wish someone would write in Slido "Please set an example to Not Chase the Money by distributing your Undeserved Salary and/or Bonus to Citi's employees who Only get a pittance of or 0% of your Salary and/or Bonus".

Telling the employees to not chase the money was one of the st*pidest thing I’ve every heard.

After job searching for 2 years, I accepted an offer that pays 5% less and I took it, and left Citi last month. The toxicity from Citi colleagues, managers, vendors, consultants, etc. is endless. There is no accountability or empathy. This is the worst-run company I've worked for in my 20-year career.

If you are reading this, what you see at Citi is not normal. Having returned to a similar-sized bank, it is just light years ahead - the people are nicer, the tech works better, the leadership team is trying, and the office is not in the middle of nowhere. I'm honestly only surfing this site now to figure out how much Citi stock I should be shorting and if you have stock, a lot of insiders have already sold: https://www.moomoo.com/news/post/44537883/citigroup-insiders-sell-us-3-5m-of-stock-possibly-signalling?level=1&data_ticket=1732472050210934

Eveyrone knows where Citi is headed.

Wow, you can save 20% from your 80k pre-tax salary? :D

Upper management is so out of touch with the regular employee. They are on a different pay scale. They’ve got money saved away. Oh sure, one could say “well you can save money too”, yes, that’s true.

Saving 20% of 10 million $ salary is different than saving 20% of 80K.

I was there when it was said to “Don’t chase after the larger pay” it was a very lame attempt to sell the message. Its insulting to talk to us like we are stup*d.

“ignore that for the past several years the upper management has gotten and will continue to get very high pay raises and bonus’s while you peon’s will get nothing.”
