Disappointed in today’s Aetna Town Hall meeting.
The ELT did not mention the 2900 in layoffs earlier this month were the potential for more.
The Townhall also did not allow enough time for questions. Or maybe that was their plan.

Joyner and another tired trope “keep delivering and stay focused”, don’t look behind the curtain and for the love of God, don’t notice that the ELT continues to drain millions of dollars in bonuses and stock while those who do the work get told thank you but there’s no bonus for you while your trying to survive. There is so much wrong here- and a lot to be proud of, Executives should be paid, but not THOUSAND+% more than those who do the work, that’s just pillaging the companies coffers while ensuring salary compression for everyone else. Here’s a tip, the thinking that got us into this mess isn’t going to get us out of it. Stop asking the same people ( cronies on the leadership team) who created the problem to solve it, that won’t work. Don’t believe it? Look ant the stock price. And one for good measure, when HR has a stack of complaints about a people leader, it’s NOT the people. HR needs a bit of an overhaul so their actions more closely align with the code of conduct, that most of us try to follow maybe then some of the trust and culture can return. Until then, it’s every man for himself even if it’s at the expense of the women who work there too.
Looked like they were all interviewing for their own jobs in front of DJ. Sad.
@2gsf+1v8uzmdj You got it right on toxic leaders. One Lead Director I know actually said they hate people and managing people. They spread rumors about their own employees. SICK.
The sad part of it all the actual “heartbeat” of the true workers that runs the place have been overran by the segment leaders whom have the monopoly and will not remove toxic leaders that most don’t want to work for but have no choice. It is the good old’ boys club. They lose great talent and keep the toxic tennis buddies around. Weasels in the camp and no one cares and Hr moves at the beat of the segment leaders. Literally bold face lying lead directors and have to take a leadership class as punishment? No thank you, why were they leaders in the first place??? If it were me, they would say thank you for your service…. So there you go!
Maybe need to check the good ol boy roster: segment will be clear if you evaluate HR complaints as there are multiple. Peel the layers of the onion and you will find the worms
If I heard the word “leadership” one more time I would have screamed. No one has faith in this ELT, and the lack of transparency about the SWAT teams (as well as the lack of involvement by the people who know what’s going on and who do the work) was disappointing.
The majority of the employees were not in the Hartford location. I know of many people who ask the same question online, but our questions were picked to be asked by the communications person in the room.
Disagree on the Q&A aspect; it was a very awkward silence kind of moment…not that a question like that would have been answered candidly, but there was certainly “time” to ask.
Just wait for CMS and the Feds. When you have townhall with no substance or plan tfowards, it's smoke and mirrors.
The company acquired too much, runs on antiquated systems and doesnt have the money to stay current. Like all institutions, failure to change and modernize at the right time while maintaining leadership stuck in thec1990s driving business...and others are told not to better themselves so that managers aren't threatened. It's toxic.
