Those who work in TMS are good friends with the STL and there's a good chance you WON'T be able to keep your job after speaking up about legitimate issues. This is regardless of whether or not you stay anonymous

The tipline is a third party documentation.
Of course WFM TMS will side with company in many cases. Leak things to friends in mgmnt. They may act as a firewall and block any issues as well. But, the law requires you to report serious issues to the company HR who are supposed to inform certain mgmnt and see what actions they take to resolve or fix the issue FIRST.
THEN:
If nothing is done or resolved, legally you move forward and contact necessary authorities showing yes we went through proper channels, they were notified, present your documentation.
That's the purpose of tipline, documentation, a record.
Now go nails those b–tards.
1-800 RAT FINK lines do not work. GM started this bs hotline in the early 1990,s. Hard to report the crooks running your company. Think about it? What would you do with this number if you were enslaved to evil Eddie at Sears. It can be used to take out lower level petty workers and managers. Use a pay phone and knock your socks off.
So if I had the manager of the store prevent me from calling the nurse line about a serious injury telling me they were worried about exaggeration I shouldn’t call?
Also if u have a medical condition. Dont bother working there even with a doctor's note because you're not allowed to have an FMLA form until you've been there for at least a year and even with excused absences they'll still fire you
Trust me, instead of caring about the issues that are reported, they sit around and try to figure out who reported it so they can find a way to get rid of you.
I’ve been there and seen it.
While a few issues get addressed, it’s window dressing for what really happens.
Im documenying evetything and recording as much as I can and talking to a labor lawyer.
And dont think they're not on this site all the GD time.
THEY ARE. THEY LIKE THE PARANOIA. IT KEEPS US FROM REPORTING WHILE REGIONAL VP'S CAN BANG CASHIERS AND SETTLE UP FOR 2 MIL.
Agreed!! Seen so much shady stuff go down and no one even get a reprimand
I need help! I have been verbally yelled-out at by stressed out TM. I had a person in Leadership leave the store knowing I was still there closing a venue!
Everyone left with that astl so I know that my story can be backed up. I wanted protection after a 6th incident of a TM going off on me and plus being abandoned in the store alone while i was experiencing a health issue! What if I had colasped or needed medical assistance? There was no one there to come to my aid. I I went to HR at our store for help.
HR listened with the leadership of my department as well as a store leadership. Me being abandon in the store was swiftly sweptaway to the side and not addressed at all! I was floored immediatly! We discussed the last recent TM incident to go off me and what was I doing that had cuased it? I couldn't tell if I was being veiwed as the one at fault for this TM to be yelling and cursing. Why should anyone lose that much control that they resort to that. So yes it would seem I might be creating it but no one nor I can really put a fingerer on it. I’m approachable is my opinion. Then after all that I have been away from work for quite sometime with no income becuase I was required to get my DR permission that I can work. I am being prevented from returning to work becuase of some other issues dealing with my benefits. My wanting to address the negligence of my leaderships lack of respect for my life and wanting to feel that I can be protected from stressed out TMs lead me to where I am today. Limbo and no income! What can I do besides look for a new employer?
What’s the number to call out
We have a few power hungry leaders in our store. Ones who are verbally and emotionally abusive to team members. She has been reported to the STL but nothing has changed. She continually talks down to her tms and sits in the back office when no leadership is around on her phone for hours. And then she complains she has so much work to do.
Instead of getting her certified for being a cheese expert, she should get some leadership training.
The tip line sort of worked for me. I had a friend make the call and explain how our ASTL was unfairly targeting some TMs. How she had people written up for offenses she herself was guilty of (smoking out front in the parking lot, smelling like weed), and that it's pretty common knowledge she drinks on the job. WFM responded within the week by switching her with an ASTL from the other store in town. Now she's their problem.
can i call and report how i was treated in a meeting with an Assistant Store Leader and my Team Leader? will that backfire on me if i use a different number and disguise my voice?
I was a PBS and I can tell you that at least in the region I was from, the PBS was almost never informed about tipline calls. Those were handled at a regional level with the STL. The PBS was kept out of the loop. We were so often the scapegoat when shady things went down, but trust me, the PBS is kept in the dark (by design) about a LOT of the HR things that go down.
Tha
Just remember that the TMSL/PBS/HR rep is there to protect WFM from you, not the other way around.
I never used it. But our evn cs tl was a real s.o.b. and two tms who reported being abused got in trouble and were fired later.
People get fired all the time from calling the tipline. BUT, sometimes it's the TL or STL, depending on how well financially the store is. Sometimes regional is just looking for an excuse to get that member of leadership out the door. So, I'd say use the tipline but be aware that nothing will happen UNLESS that TL or STL is already on the hook for something else.
An overnight tm was terminated after it was determined that he snitched on the overnight team in an attempt to discredit the overnight supervisor. The snitch was upset that he wasnt chosen for supervisor.
He called the tipline to report the overnight team consuming unpurchased product. The stl was notified, presumably by the pbs and they were determined to fire him after the loss prevention firm was called in.
Moral of the story: stls don't like snitches and the pbs/tms is untrustworthy.
A former (fired) fellow team member wanted me to call this hotline to report on our TL. I would have wanted to do so but thought better of it because it seems like a trap to me. Call up and they have the number you're calling from. They also probably have a recording of your voice and your specific complaint. It would be impossible for them NOT to trace who you are, using simple logic and who was scheduled during the time that was complained about.
No thanks.
So who is protecting the workers? #teamwfm
