This company is actually very lucky to still have many excellent employees. I'm curious though - why are you still trying to have a great performance and give as much value as possible here?

No, green cards is a lame excuse. People change jobs all the time and continue the process. If born in the subcontinent, then telling friends and acquaintances back home about a new job in faang in the bay area or the new TC takes priority over relocating family to a less desirable location.
Because 50% of the company is hoping for a green card?
San Diego is a great place to live and raise a family. Family comes first (unless you were born in the subcontinent).
