Well, I'm a crappy old guy. I didn't make the rules I just play by them. You're right about the new blood being able to outwork me any day of the week but thanks to my CWA I'm protected because of my tenure. What do you want me to say? Hey newbie, take my spot! I need 5 more years and I can call it a career and retire with semi good benefits.
Yep-- In accordance with the crappy union--- The company will let new guys and gals with energy and gumption to work go-- and keep the crappy old guys and gals who just sit on their tails all day drawing a check.
I heard something similar. I was told that June is when the technician surplus would start. I'm not too worried because it goes by seniority and I'm up there so I'm good. I feel bad for the newbies but life goes on.
