Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

BTC Management needs to go..like all EM management

BTC management keeps getting worse by the day.
We have hundreds getting hired every month with NO training and extremely poor quality hiring as they cannot even pay average market salary in India.

They cheat experienced hires by not revealing the salary freeze and the sickening performance rating system. The expats sent here are clowns, either they show their over the top American optimism, or the other extreme acting like slave masters. They are overpaid clowns sent to exploit Indian employees. There is no value add for the millions being spent on expats. The company is doomed because of these Houston expats, why were they sent to us here? Why cant Houston keep the best of the best?

Everyday at work is depressing, the arrogant managers need to go, some have been here for years ruining the ‘culture’. Worst part is the employees will be blamed for any mistakes, the reality is poor planning, which is funny as there is a dedicated planning team at BTC who fail to plan ANYTHING and act like arrogant id--ts . You are glorified calendar setting secreteries you id--ts, your achievement in life is NOTHING. Disgraceful the way they behave because they work with ‘management’.

Exxonmobil is by far the worst employer I have been with. If they cut/freeze salaries after putting us through the torture of rankings, attrition will increase even further. It is getting bad, of course they hide numbers saying people are leaving for higher education and dont count those. And then these managers boast of success and creating a world class facility. LIARS.

Well a Huge load of the company’s work is going to ship to BTC, god save us if the conditions there are so poor.

Classic Excon management would have made several plans to tackle attrition as well, and no the answer will never be improving salaries, it will be IGNORANCE and waiting for absolute failure. Look at where we are today, its a function of poor management over several years. BTC or Houston, the leadership culture is so rotten that it wont spare anyone. If your management is expat, thwir job is to spread the rot.

Leave as soon as you can, there is no hope. People either get used to it, or they gain weight and pretend and become soulless robots who work more than 8 hours a day and take pride in it, accomplishing nothing but more meetings and powerpoint polishing. Most managers are fat for a reason.

The millions of dollars expats cost the company can be worth it if they do something useful, in India they have been a drain on resources, driving up the overheads and hourly costs, Last I heard its almost $60/hr as conpared to $40/hr couple of years back. Of course the salary and wages of Indian employees is barely significant portion of this, its the few expats that increase all the cost.

How can first time supervisors with no uderstanding of how to deal with human beings be sent to India and get paid extra? Of course the people will get frustrated. What is the criteria for selecting them? I’ve heard the manahers aren’t any better either.

No offense here, India is full of smart people, but only if a company and its leaders knows how to run a business.

Bengaluru or Spring, This company is known to develop and cultivate some of the worst human qualities. This is why you observe abundance of good for nothing supervisors, managers, advisors and planners in BTC. They were doing the same here in Houston and will continue to do the same all their lives.

EM employees and expats, have only two mission:
(i). Fill their pockets with expat benefits.
(ii). Suppress below and suk up above, to advance their good for nothing careers.

It's too bad you dont have any marketable skills and cant work anywhere else. Pretty sure you would have done that instead of complaining here.
