Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Stop coping and defending Ford Stock

"oh it gives a 6% dividend"
You know what else is giving a return close to that? literally any high yield savings account that has no risk of losing money.

Stop justifying buying this trash stock lmao

..."i remember in 2018 when packages went out..."

Hopefully you are retired. If you are still at Ford your career had better get busy living or get busy dyin'. Unless Ford is the only viable option, in which case good luck.

The stock is a joke. Anyone who's pushing it likely wants you to buy it because...well..it helps their bottom line if they hold it. Think about this. Unless your financial advisor tells you to bucket it or include it in another investment group, which they likely won't, just leave it. Not worth the trouble. If it's been gifted to you somehow...find a reasonable time to sell it without waiting forever and trying to time things. You'll just lose more if you try to time the market and get more out of it.

OP, I can tell that you are a young man edgelord. Only young men who are edgelords use the word 'cope' / 'coping' the way you did. This usually aligns well with the 'nice guys' and '!ncels' as well.

It's as though things went wrong in your life and rather than find the positives, or heaven forbid, actually make efforts to improve things, you are supposed to just be miserable. And bonus points for crying about it anonymously in as many public forums as you possibly can. And extra bonus points for criticizing anyone who posts anything positive.

This is how you are coping. Is it working? Do you feel good about yourself and your life? Sincere question. Are you happy?

If you are unhappy, do something about it. Don't just sit there and complain about everything and whine about how powerless you are to change anything.

As the price of the stock goes down, the dividend likely goes up, and also the reverse. To receive these "fat" dividends, unless you bought at these depressed levels, you likely rode price down losing total value. I know of people that rode price up to $20, to ride price right back down to todays $11 price tag, earning essentially nothing, if not losing overall. I warned to sell into strength at twenty plus.

Unfortunately, this down cycle is likely only getting started. Take todays price, cut it in half, and that's likely where you want to accumulate.

If you know how to TA and chart read, you don't have to "trust me bro". The chart shows you everything you need to know.

2pno+1vnMXovj sorry to bust your bubble but his resume and times were listed on LINK... And yes he seems to hop around. those are his own times published. I would be concerned if I saw that on someone's paperwork.

Doug Field has been at Ford for longer than 3 years now. Your job hopper accusation doesn't hold water. He will see the company transformation to its success.

Plus DF was a Ford employee for several years early in his career.

The new administration might save the stock and the company IF Billy and Jimmy give up this EV dream (nightmare). But they won't, so sell. Because when profits tank and the stock goes to $1, they won't be paying a dividend at all!!

why would anyone listen to one of JF or DF TH?? Nothing but hot air..
A true leader has a vision and plan that a line worker to a banker on Wall Street can understand and believe in.
I will not call JF or DF leaders. Leaders take responsibility not deflect it (Don Shula ). That is a sign of a weak person.
JF been at Ford since 09.. came over from Toyota.. you would think he would have learned from Toyota to bring to Ford.. instead Ford continues to go down hill..

DF.. Professional job hopper. never stays anywhere for more than 36 months. What real Vehicle or similar development experience does he have? remember it takes about 4-5 years to go from concept to production. on either a plane or vehicle. again Doug has not stayed at any one place for more than 36 months...So how is it this clown is in charge?
but Detroit Free press nor Wall Street will question this. Why?
but hey BF spent Ford money on a Trian station..so what is that place?
1st it was a tech hub, then and event center,, then apartments,, so what is it?
Again nobody is asking questions..
peoples lively hoods and 401ks depends on what this teams does and so far they have been a disaster..
volumes in the US continue to drop in their home market.. you have a new mustang which only sold 38k units.. this should be a flag.. No it is a the UAW fault. This is a management fault... how do you expect to keep FRAP up and running on 38k volume?
Also look at the prices of F-Series? how do you expect to maintain those volumes when they are way to expensive ..
stop adding d-mb expensive features like that d*mn fold down shifter. you can put shift buttons in the ip or go back to column shifter..
it irks me to see useless decisions like that.. we use to have CNE's in Truck Operations building #1 who would put their feet down on cr-p like that.
you don't need the starship enterprise for a pick-up truck.. you need something people can afford and they can rely on.
And JF you are no Capt. Kirk that is for sure... You are more like Nedameir in Animal House.. Shot by his own troops in Vietnam..
Wall Street if you do read these post please start asking the tough questions because the Press will not Except Peter Delorenzo..

Chasing capital gains on individual stocks are a fools errand. Dividends are the way to go.

“U.S. stocks enjoyed their fifth best one-day showing, with capitalization rising by $1.62 trillion on Wednesday, The Wall Street Journal reported.”

Ford went DOWN .72%.
Speaks volumes about what the market thinks of Farley and Bill Ford.

I've yet to find a savings or CD giving 6% year over year. Dividends happen like clockwork.

Why buy a stock when the senior management overpromises and under delivers. too bad the press and the banks do not press them like the troops. People who see this coming. i remember in 2018 when packages went out there was a section where the entire senior people saw the cd6 debacle coming so they retired. they kept records of things pointing out what was going to happen only to be over ruled.
JF was out saying it will take years to get new product with better quality.. are you serious??? that is his response from a CEO that is very much part of the problem..
I will not call JF/DF or BF leaders... For one leaders take responsibility for problems not deflect blame.
