Thread regarding Alphabet Inc. (Google) layoffs

NVIDIA is kicking Google's as*

As investor, I am moving all my google stock to NVIDIA and Microsoft. No way, Google will be able to compete with AI solution providing by these two companies on next 5 years.

Meantime, the leetcode engineers and the bad leadership is taking over Google.

@tlu+1mRNNlaN although you are entitled to your opinions, you aren't entitled to your own facts.

What you claim is happening isn't happening.

@2dat+1mRNNlaN if you say so.

I can tell you I come up with my own questions to have interviewees work on.

The purpose of asking Leetcode-like interview questions is not to find the best candidates but to find the candidates who are the most compliant and to give Google and similar companies an aura of mystique. People spend years preparing/memorizing these questions. If they are willing to waste their lives to that extent, when they could have spent that effort founding their own company, they are likely do whatever the employer asks. Having seemingly impossible hurdles in getting at a job Google also enhances the reputation of the company. To the outsider it seems like they have high standards, but in actuality, the standards creates ineffective workers.

I'm not advising you of anything but a little secret we traders have amongst ourselves is that buying the top is not advisable

@2hzi+1mRNNlaN it is not marketing conditions... it is lack of strategy and vision.. short and long term.

OP has neither goog stock nor nvidia stock. Sole intent of the post is to bad mouth google and leadership based on current market conditions. Real traders who move stock holdings around do not whine like this in forums.

Leetcode has paid subscription with leetcode exercises asked by Google. It is highly used and probably explains the bad hiring.

@tlu+1mRNNlaN now we see another brown nose saying does not use leetcode while the majority of the company hires based on the stupid and useless leetcode exercises. Then they do not know the pseudo-engineers do not accomplish anything. They are not able to debug sockets issues, raise a webserver, poor understanding of backend security principals, bad embedded system designs.. but they know to solve the problem where the little turtle jump stones on prime number orders LOL.

Google already develops their own ML chip called the TPU. There are Chinese GPUs that are benchmarking close to Nvidia. Who knows what the landscape will be in a few years.

Funny thing. I actually give interviews at Google.

Number of times I even asked about leetcode: 0

Number of times I heard of any of my colleagues saying they asked a candidate about leetcode: 0.
