Shouldn’t Murray Auchincloss be sacked along with Bernard Looney? There is no way he wasn’t aware of what Bernard was doing behind the scenes.

@7owt+1q944LRr You are 100% correct in all that you say. There should be an inquiry into why there was no successor to BL decided upon, particularly since he was proving to be a disaster from early days in post. Also, heads should roll over BL being appointed in the first place given that his staff romances were well known, no matter what Bob Dudley says. MA is not an oil man which is what the company needs. The other two are a couple of lightweight BL protégés. An American oilman is the best option to reverse the damage which has been done.
If those are the 3 top running internal candidates then we are in trouble. Murray was BL fanboy. Need somebody to come in and steer the ship in the right direction. Our current strategy shifts with the wind and that has always been bp's problem. They don't stick to their strategy and are so heavily influenced by current market conditions. Remember all those Angola assets we wrote off because we weren't going to explore.
@2czm+1q944LRr I know he has a child with another senior BP employee. However, he declared the relationship (don't know about others). Having said that, what female is so desperate- he looks like he has no neck!! He has a face which would be great for radio! However, a high salary and power has obviously helped him pull. I think in BL's case, if he declared every BP female he bedded, it would be downright embarrassing.

Well said. MA knew, they ALL knew. While I like Carol, she is not CEO material and Emma is too weak. They are programmed muppets incapable of independent thought. I know.
YES, HE SHOULD BE SACKED. However, he is one of three internal candidates selected for the final. Also, when BP made the announcement last week about BL, they specifically stated that MA had not been part of that decision making process. I agree that he must have known about BL's shenanigans. Beyond that, the guy has no charisma, no personality. I think the company should bring in someone from outside with a fresh eye. I think an American would be best - excellent management skills and come up through the oil industry.
