If you were Pat, would you reform ifs?

If so, how? Or would you abandon it?

If I was Pat, I'd take my hundreds of millions of dollars, leave Intel and IFS to their demise, and go do whatever I wanted.

@2aqb Or they could be Wook employees who want to see him gone and are probably trying to undermine his efforts to turn the company around.

No he is stubborn and net the farm on IFS. He bloviated too much in the press and has really cornered himself.

Even in the face of new data, his track record isn’t one to flinch.

Even Grove had to pull the plug when Pat was running the ProShare Video Conferencing debacle. It was a failure and was losing way too much money.

No, with $3B in losses in Q1 and no upturn in PC demand, this is going to put Pat, the company, the employees and their families in very serious difficulty.

Intel is not going anywhere for a while. You can read the statement either way. On a serious note, it has the infrastructure and resources. Execution is what's missing. It has grossly overcrowded the management cadre, where managers are managing manager who are managing managers to the next 14 levels. This may very well be the biggest drain on the payroll budget. Their cost benefit would be the worst across all level of employees. This needs to be fixed where ICs are no more than 4 levels below the CEO. We have also seen some uber arrogant and stubborn folks at the key decision making positions that heavily contributed to the downfall of the company. There needs to be an honest and secure feedback system for such characters and they need to be get rid of sooner rather than later.

Pat seems to be fighting with all what he can do. He is making the hard decisions which other irresponsible leaders in past should have made. He has been given a losing hand and he is trying to turn it around.

Folks who respond this negatively to pat on this forum likely don’t work at Intel anymore.

If I were Pat I'd continue the current pump and dump approach. Sure, intel will go down but Pat will be sitting pretty.
