Thread regarding Centene Corp. layoffs

People have had enough

Why do they even need layoffs when people are more than happy to walk out on their own? Centene has been creating a hostile work environment while taking away job security for years now, so it's no wonder so many are quitting. I'm still here because I'm hoping to receive severance. That's it. Nothing else is keeping me here. Does the ELT even care how many employees feel like this?

Post ID: @1hyr+19eXO4cO You already know what you should do. I was in a similar predicament over there 20 years ago. I walked away and surprised myself. I'm now early retired in the UK.

I’m stuck because I took a loan against my 401k at the start of COVID.

Amen to the person below. Not worth the super sized work load where your working for 2 employees since the employee the next cubicle over who has the same title as you does not do any work and the leadership team is covering up for him.

After six years of trying to hang in there, I walked away. It was a great paycheck, but was not worth the stress on myself and most importantly, my family. The long hours and super sized work loads almost cost my life. I saw my work colleagues burn out and one person in my department had a mental breakdown due to the stress. My advice, Sit down with yourself and your household and review the budget, what can you go without? I took another job with another company for a small pay cut and it was worth it! Professionally, Physically and mentally, a huge improvement. I had no idea how truly toxic it was until I left and started working somewhere else. My point, life is too short and there are other employers and leadership out there who are a better fit, adjust with modern work styles (including WFH) and will appreciate and recognize a great work ethic and attitude. Best wishes.

Run. Do what you have to do - this company is not worth it.

I’ve been fighting myself all day about this. My environment is truly hostile. The non-structure and micromanaging is disgusting. I’m debating working two jobs to make up for my income, to walk away. If I can’t find something equivalent in this pandemic. I’ve only been here 3 years, and my soul says this isn’t it.
