@2adp+1oQfDv6d Could be but on the other side many customers will never renew their contract if they don’t have somebody locally. What they like is to have a local ressource with onsite visit, at least in Europe.

An offshore team can do it for cheaper. Hence the comments about outsourcing it. Many other companies already offshore their TAMs. Fed TAMs on the other hand will be safe due to any laws about onshore resources.

Also Broadcom cares about top 2000 customers. If all 2000 have a TAM service you are looking at 2000/5 slices which is 400 TAMs. Sure some may be dedicated but they could easily cut half the org and meet customer commitment by making tier 1 Pooled.

Everyone thinks their department is special just like PS is paid for by the customer yet Broadcom sold off all of their PS to HCL. Trust me I am a TAM but I am not foolish enough to think that I can't be cut.

TAMs will be fine. CSMs and SSMs are gone.

Um first off TAMS are a paid for service, secondly they are WAY more important than any CSM or SSM. Heck a good TAM already does those roles.

TAM are in absolid position, unless you cant get your customers to renew.

Nothing. Is just the new name of TAM.
Billed in advance to customer.

This is a new role pivoted many times , it’s a combinations of services and product adoption, project manager and customer success. Roles and responsibilities are to manage technical adoption of a product and services. It’s just an overhead to the company.
If this role doesn’t exist there will be other product line managers and product support manager can back fill the role. Candidly speaking the role of technical adoption manager has always revolved around handling escalations and passing the mail to different managers. (Vmware Fat body/ big bubble situation).
Just to handle one escalation we don’t need 5 different managers ( technical support supervisor, support account manager, technical account manager, CSM, technical adoption manager, REM).
This role can be easily handled with product line manager and technical support manager.

In short - start uploading resumes to different companies sites.

Even the Technical account manager who takes pride in and creating monthly TDM report (A BI template, everything is automated and all of the information can easily be fetched from skyline and vrops or any other observatory tools. This role can easily be replaced by an gen AI feature.

TAMs are paid for by the customer.

They will be fine. Most of these comments are re--rded.

Some will be severed, and some will continue entering superfluous information in triplicate redundant systems and completing mandatory low-value deliverables until AVGO figures out what a mess they have acquired.
