In the bag 80%
@2bw let me guess your numbers are good you talk for yourself good luck with that Remember this Quote I don’t need the best I need good enough a entrepreneur said that just after he purchased a company called cablevision he then proceeded to dismantle it to what it is now a 2 and change stock with a massive debt load and they sold their dwindling subscriber count, wish you nothing but the best with life decisions, I too I am not the fondest of Unions but they do serve as a border between you and the company it’s like having a lawyer on call bronx had over 219 field Service techs they got 8 or 9 now if that, all contractors now Think wisely comrades
Oakland is doing just fine. Dues are doing what they are supposed to be.
When the ship sinks union or not you gonna drown ☠️
@letmebe....grow a pair and tell him that to his face.... For me its Cr-p company...cr-ppier union..them boys in Oakland and in Newark seem to have more gripes and be unhappier than us up here....yet they pay dues to be that unhappy...
Not true - they want you to walk on your own so it doesn’t cost them a dime. They want zero staff and zero overhead. The only problem is that this scenario also equals zero customers.
If the company had your best interest they would offer you a package out of the lead zeppelin. They want you to go down with the ship.
Company is scared. keep signing up people. hear what the have to offer and make the best choice. i will say if we all went union under cable vision half of our problems wouldn't be here. look at how Verizon techs are doing.
You clearly ate the hot dogs.
In my opinion this is the worst idea. I only signed the card to get the tall Haitian off my back....WE stop calling us and trying to pressure us. You do you, I'll do what right for me and my family. Just to be clear, if the union were offering something better then I have no problem. But the same empty promises, same productivity, same metrics AND I gotta pay. No thank you...
If you sign cards, they’ll send corporate bean counters up there to show you a bunch of histograms and pie charts explaining how the company is broke. It is an interesting way to tell you to vote “no” TSTL.
Greenwood lake needs some cards
It's about time
70% yes so far it’s in the bag
All operations or just field service?
I agree with a previous comment, what do you have to lose? In my many years with the company the first time I saw someone receive back pay was after we unionized. The first time I saw management get challenged resulting in saved jobs was after we unionized. The first time ever that I've seen management openly apologize was, that's right, after we unionized. You can sit there and wait for the impending doom that everyone thinks is coming or you can come together and organize your union. Really, what do you have to lose?
End of year end of career
Your right about the snow. I started shoveling my truck out 1 storm. I did it for 3 hrs and in my estimate I had about 8hrs to go. Guess what? They removed the snow for me. Who cares if you have to shovel snow? I'm just as happy spending my 8 in the parking lot. You just don't get it. Metrics or no metrics same raise.
"Every union contract has management rights" Not true. The IBEW 827 let's management change the metrics whenever they want. They even have a section that says bargaining unit employees have to shovel snow in emergenices. Its all in the contract. Teamsters at UPS for example doesn't even recognize their managements numbers.
Tell that to the teachers , police, ironworkers , railroad, federal employees. Verizon workers . Most have a great career and are not in this mess. Wake up and join together . Put a little resistance to their decision making .
If you have to have a union to help you keep your job, you’re probably not worth having.
Actually the company laid off in my union shop but was using contractors to backfill the work load. That was a contract violation and an unfair labor practice. Everyone went back to work. Ask those guys if the dues were worth it?
that's a lie. techs got laid off everywhere in 2020. Whether they came back or not is a different story
0 techs in union shops got laid off …..
@OP Fortunately, I found a better opportunity and left a couple years ago. But I still give a sh*t about some of the good guys that are still there. With that said, I was in a union shop and was glad we had a union. It definitely offered protections and gave a little more peace of mind. Unless you plan on leaving soon anyway and are not worried about your future at Altice then I feel its unwise to oppose unionizing. While not perfect, its better than standing on your own. I check in here from time to time because I know there's still some good people out in the field and hope for the best for them and their families.
Ha!!!! The brainwashed union boyz are big mad. LOL!!
Do it ! It’s never too late. What do you have to lose? It’s got to start somewhere.
It is a little too late for union protection. This would have needed to be done when Altice first came to town when field staff had the numbers.Last guy please turn off the lights.
@dr great, another person wanting a cookie for leaving and explain why we are all id--ts.
If you guys still think “Union” means anything at this point you are beyond pathetic. Altice is going to do whatever Altice wants to do and to he-l with your Union’s. You can stay around and hope for some kind of severance package or you can leave that $hit company like most of us have already done and work somewhere else.
How many techs @ union shops got laid off?
Every union contract has management rights … don’t go ibew 1 they fold left and right for the company with out talking to their members and if you go with CWA you guys will have more power due to hudson valleys 2 shops already with CWA reach out to someone at the Hawthorne shop to get more info !
Union isn't doing sh-t anyway. When the contract has a whole situation titled "Managements Rights" giving management the right to do whatever the fu-k they want. What kind of union is that?
