Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

People waiting to be laid off

Trusting that your severance pay will be enough until you find something new is not a very wise idea. Why put yourself in such a situation at all?
It's much easier to find a job while you still have a job, but it's obvious that many haven't had the experience of looking for a job after getting laid off, so they are deciding to wait for Intel to show them the door.

@1jpd+1isTXDWB, I don't mind hiting Intel employees. Based of 2016 experience, people who put their head down and do good work are let go by Intel. But those are the ones all other companies want and are hard to come by!

We are not hiring anyone from Intel as they are known to be lazy and lack good skills. Why hire people from a failed company? Mostly villagers who hire people from their own village. Don't ruin your company by bringing these sorry a$$ Intel failures. No, thank you.

@1zzq I like how u said "develop" packages. Haha "we're developers too!" LoL. Having useful transferable skills is always good in hard times.

Start updating your CV. Mark down all new skills. That will give you a confidence boost.

Imagine the happiness you will feel when you let your helpless manager know that you are leaving and he needs to find a replacement. HR will know that there is something wrong with him/her because of his/her low retention rate. Your colleagues will envy you.

Send out those cvs and start fresh with better people.

Lots of HR posts on here, I guess you don’t want to have to develop and deliver all the packages right?

Why stay at intel? Are you lazy? You’re arranged married wife works there too? Like free fruit? Like failed projects? Like kissing a-ss? Can’t be bothered trying? Like HR fattys ? Why? Inquiring minds want to know.

Tech hiring has already slowed down and will become even more scarce when managers get back from summer vacation and layoff season begins in earnest.

ACT was Intel-specific. This time you’ll get the boot only to find the doors frozen shut at Intel’s competitors and your costs spiraling out of control due to high inflation.

Don't wait to get laid off. Ditch intel and find some better job.

It will be easier to explain the job switch to a prospective employer before you are laid off.

Prospective employers will be more interested in you if you currently hold employment.
