Heard of any layoffs for CBG teams? Got a worrying invite about an hour ago about a virtual team update tomorrow morning.

The ones you have to worry about are those that are mandatory with a HR person involved. I FO without doing any FA! As many have commented on this website, it really does seem to be “circling the drain” unfortunately! Good luck to those impacted!

Not necessarily a layoff: Sometimes those meetings happen after layoffs are done to inform the remaining team that they happened, sometimes it’s a new person starting or someone leaving (voluntarily), or a reorganization to move reporting lines. Could be many things . Source: person who has attended many “team updates” that were not layoffs.
