Nobody can focus on anything. It’s been getting worse and worse over the past few weeks. We are all caught now between the possibility of losing a job, not actually liking our job or the compensation or both, needing a job, a really bad tech job market, and being associated with a company that has an uncertain future. If I come across at least a vaguely decent job offer, I’ll run.

Dear Falling Apart,
From your rambling post, it is clear you are under great duress. You didn't really pose a coherent thought or ask a question, so please don't do anything rash. Make yourself a nice hot cup of tea and sit down and think things through rationally, like you were taught to do in grade school. Good luck and take care.
Please OP, run. Too many employees like you are what rot the company.
Is correct. But I did have to get it approved and signed of on.
I was explicitly told by managers in my org that we are as safe as can be and have been told this for the last 2 weeks. This was confirmed through folks in other groups that our director level org lost enough via CPM.
Here's the skinny. Each manager chooses who he wants to be laid off on his team. Managers are given a headcount of people to layoff, and then they choose which ones themselves. Any manager who tells you "hey, it wasn't my decision to lay you off" is outright lying.
your resume should already be on every job website on the planet!
Today my manager sent me an email with a long list of things for me to get done right away. I replied that I will wait for next week to see what happens; if I still have a job, I'll get started on those. If my job is over, I'll take my 16 days of vacation.
I have a suggestion. This app should scrub newspaper job posting so that Americans can apply to Perm ads that are meant to be obscured from American applicants. By directing laid off Americans to apply for obscured Perm ads you let them cut the Perm process out from the Migrants from India or China seeking permanent residency. If Americans are not hired or contacted back then direct them to report the company and the Migrants to the Department of Labor.
Intel can’t do anything else properly, why expect a clean, respectable mass firing?
They are lying. We know a lot more than what your manager says he knows. Just most mgrs don’t really know how to handle this situation properly. Most never had proper training. Just good engineer who got bumped up. I hate to say this but if you really think about it, the managers are the true sc-mbags of what’s currently going on.
@1agj+1uTcB3p3 headcount is low because Pat and all those who overspent, like every person on that cruise, boozing it up. Company is no longer making money. Plus all the over hiring they did the last 2 years when they had no business hiring anymore has taken its toll. Packages needed to go out; senior tech's and people who seen the writing on the wall knew to take the package while it was there. As we all know, there is no law stating they need to give any severance or retirement package to anyone. In some states, as long as they give you x amount of weeks notice, as they may be doing now with ISP, they don't have to give you anything.
@1zix, everything is in WaitingTech because 6 hour breaks & writing "found pen on floor" good catches are more important. And of course headcount is low due to all the fake MLOA's. But maybe still better than the alternative UP tools with incompetent techs scrapping WIP & breaking them doing PM's.
He’s lying. We very much do know. Maybe not all the aftermath details but we do know a lot.
Everything is in WaitingTech
Managers are just saying "we don't know" and "we're playing it by ear". Such a sh-t show.
Challenge your manager to explain the directions they are setting
It’s your job to constructively confront so that we make quick progress
Everyone like blaming Pat or senior leadership. Not enough blame is being direct towards our managers. They are a large contributor to the mess We are currently in.
My boss has found the answer — “emergency mode”. “Whoopsie doodle it’s due tomorrow and I forgot to tell you until today”
Stop working v Hanging out by the microwave comparing curry recipes. The company probably won't notice any change in production
Maximus would at least ask floor a quick soldiers death
Instead we get a paralyzing beuracracy slow poisoning
Evidence that we are not made for battle at this time
No deliberate quick leadership actions
Even when sacrificing the workers for the sake of the company
Instead long legal reviews for the eventual execution orders
Are you not entertained?
A people should know when they are conquered
@wup we get it, you’re an MT
About the only thing Intel is good at anymore is setting it's employees up for failure.
I wish I was on one of these cushy teams that can choose to just stop working. No change in my area.
Yes agreed it’s everywhere all teams basically sh-t getting done
I'd be surprised if that sentiment isn't shared company wide. I dunno how leadership can expect any kind of productivity when the threat of the axe on your neck ki-ls morale like this. I can barely be bothered to even attend meetings at this point, let alone get anything done.
Sure does feel this long winding down of HC was by design to make us fail faster...
Well. What did they expect? "Tools Down" ladies and gentlemen. We cant be expected to function normally in this environment!
