The numbers only add up if you are there long enough. What is the tenure once you join Broadcom?
In which EU countries did they cut the car allowance?
...So really, it's a case of diminishing returns as the higher the stock goes the less you get so future chances of getting huge payout lessen significantly.
That is one way to look at it or after 4 years, that is your "golden handcuff" salary since every year you get a refresh to replace the expiring grant in that dollar amount.
I don't know what you all make at VMW but 400K+ a year, indefinitely, is not bad for an average engineer.
I wouldn't assume that Hock won't buy more companies. We still have room to grow.

As you said, great for people who've been there a long time when stock was cheaper but not much good to those joining today.
Is 300 shares every year guaranteed or is that just a random example?
It depends on your level and your ranking. 300 is for level 5 but if you perform poorly it could be 50 or none. If you are in the top 5% it could be 400. But yes every year you get something unless you sc--w up.
I think level 6 is 1000 nominal. It is not linear. The higher your level it gets exponential.
The numbers of shares is not fixed. HR has a dollar amount for your level and it is divided by current stock price. So at $1000 per share you get 300 but if it goes up to $2000 per share you get 150 shares. those of us who have been here several years are making bank from old grants.

.....Yeah in my opinion the offer is overall lower, at least in my case. In Europe they also suppressed the car allowance... total mess!

Are you guys misunderstanding the RSU component? there is no way your the RSU's are less than these benefits. You do understand that you get a new grant every year right?
Let's keep the math simple:
With VMW profits added in $1000 per share:
You get 150K base, 300 shares over 4 years for Level 5.
Every year you get 300 more over 4 years.
Every year you get 2% raise
Year 1: 150K + 75K
Year 2: 153K + 150K
Year 3: 156K + 225K
Year 4: 159K + 300K
Year 5: 462K TC
Year 6: 465K TC
etc
etc
This assumes no increase in stock price which has never happened! Is your car allowance more that 300K? Really?!
Anti woman. Mat leave cut by more than 50%. Not attractive.
the RSU's are compounded YoY with quarterly grants so after 15 months you will see a big difference in total comp.
