This location is permanently closed!
I wonder how much longer the other Bronx store has and if a similar liquidation process will happen?
I just called Bronx. They Said main store closes TODAY, pharmacy closes THURSDAY. So no liquidation apparently. Is this a NY-specific thing, to just close without liquidation? Same deal in Astor Place Kmart, and Massapequa Sears, but interestingly not in Brooklyn Sears (which is undergoing a traditional liquidation as we Speak). I wonder if he has to vacate a building quickly for a reason? Regardless, as of this FRIDAY, the only Kmart pharmacy stateside, will be Grass Valley CA. Whew, that was quick!
Did they already close? I called them at (718) 430-9439, between several Times during the Day (they're listed as closing at 9 PM), and nobody answered. In fact, after about 10 rings it goes to a recording that states "this wireless customer is unavailable". Try it. Wireless? Why would a store phone be a wireless number? Typically it would be a landline. Also, the fact that nobody answered leads me to suspect it might have already closed. I also tried the pharmacy number, but I got a recording that pharmacy is currently closed (which makes sense, as the pharmacy closes 3 P.M., on Weekends, & I called after That).
Perhaps someone in the NYC area can pass by and see if they are actually permanently closed yet. I have yet to see any articles in NY local media online, yet.
Closing tomorrow (10/3)
@1yot+1d6si3YS Why would they move the stuff to Bridgehampton, which is 100 miles away? They'd move it to the other Bronx store, yes, and if they still had too much stuff, they'd just send it across the River to West Wood. Bridgehampton is way too far from Bronx.

Looks like this is the one with the pharmacy, man. So only stateside pharmacy left is Grass Valley, and I don't think they will last either. Of course the pharmacies persist (for now) in the territories.
That sounds like they want to quickly close the store without liquidating it. Perhaps just move all the merchandise to the other remaining Bronx store and to Bridgehampton?
Is this the Bronx Kmart with or without pharmacy?
