I really wish our leadership would realize this. They keep trying to find the cheapest way to get things done (usually by cutting more expenses, meaning employees) but they rarely think about how that'll affect Qualcomm's future. Losing institutional knowledge, losing experience, losing know-how... All of that harms the company in the long run.

The goal with this layoff and subsequent ones is to eventually move everything to India. See the writing on the wall. They don’t care about what will get affected here in the US.
We all are dots in this big balance sheet…I’m using these dots the companies makes some canvas and erases them when not needed .
Move on and move on . Engineering is a replaceable skills and management is not …su-k this up as a bitter reality.
@1ple+1oFx57 you just described very public company. Congratulations on the late realization that you work for a public company.
Our economy is based on the notion that companies and profits (especially short term profits) are more important than people. This might make (some) successful companies, but the constant stress is unhealthy, and is a big contributor to toxic work environments.
@1ykb+1oFx579r the reason Q has to layoffs engineers is because of the dead weight status collectors leeching off the company. Next time you are here for entertainment, think about all the hard working engineers that will be laid off.
The topic of status collectos was never meant to be funny.
Status collector posts are getting boring. Was fun initially.
Status collectors are always an expense to the company. That is the reason Nvidia has very few of them and won't hire any status collectors from Qualcomm.
Status collector will always in demand regardless. Update your skills to be one.
With gen AI getting better and better everyday, most employees will become an expense.
Upskill and stay relevant.
Employees are a resource, not an investment. Why would a company invest in an employee who can leave the next day for a higher salary?! Grow up, go learn skills that make companies begging you, not the other way!
