Petition - make Simon Sinek chief strategist

Who needs a deerly paid chief strategist when we can get our wisdom for free from TED talks? And since we're adopting leadership on the cheap, why do we even need a CEO in person when we could listen chapters from audio books by Jack Welch instead of the all hands, optionally delivered by a cute robot with googly glowing eyes?

There were plenty of smart people who were led by inept CEOs like MK and VL, a CTO who let market opportunities pass by and failed to recognize threats, and a passive ELT like DH. Add a hands-off BOD who did not know our industry and you are left with this mess. All the smart people are now working for our competitors. SM just needs a smart exit strategy. He will get rich while the ship slowly sinks.

@1xon+1dJWU2la, what you just listed can be simply summed up as terminal care! Thanks for making it clearer! But then why would the ELT not cut down a bit on the amount of BS and buzzwords and not pretend we are something else than we are, with such nauseous self assuredness ?
Surely a polite formulation of something closer to the truth can be found... For example:

  • a mature established technology and a company in a lifecycle stage where the shareholder value comes from the business value offered to the installed customer base and gradually increasing cloud adoption.

There - I only mentioned positives, maybe not the most inciting - but I told no egregious lies either, as they do over and over again!!

Get the critique for SM, maybe not the caliber of a person that one dreams of. But he does some things right. Axing headcount, dropping MLE, decreasing R&D are right things to do for shareholders. TD is declining but you can still squeeze out good bucks if you cut the costs. If MSFT CEO took over, he may be doing the same thing. After all, the same ppl that stood by and brought company to this place (TD folks) are not the ppl that can now innovate (how? with what skills? what innovation culture?) and get TD out of woods.
