Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Good luck not finding anything

What hotshot decided it was a great idea to put the search bar at the absolute bottom of the homepage? It’s like we don’t even try anymore.

I heard that PG&A forced EMIT to include the search at the top which only searches the Exxon Mobil (external) site. For “real” searching (internal documents), you need to use the search bar at the bottom of the home page. It is totally inane.

Anyone worth their salt is not in EMIT anymore. I wonder if BK had anything to do with it? Oh yeah, I remember now, he humilliated the very people who work on developing the site! #HOTSHOT

Want you to linger around trying to find things.
Not for the hour count of monthly usage by the population.
But simply to ensure you find nothing.

No joke.

And giant magnifying glass at the top of the screen provides no relevant search results.

I am astounded at the poor redesign. The homepage doesn't load properly in Chrome, and the intranet search bar that is actually useful is all the way at the bottom of the page. This change clearly did not take typical employee use cases into account.
