Thread regarding Ford layoffs

Do you see a future here? Or are you just here to cash as many paychecks as possible

I don't even think Ford will be around in 5 years

GM sells more full size pickups than Ford. GM pretends that the Sierra and Silverado are different so they can make more money on GMC products.

But Ford lovers take heart, with the Lincoln brand you are still the king of overcharging the buyer with bad badge engineering.

@1wmr+1uyz0IEF The company with the best selling truck in the planet is Toyota, with the Hilux. Ford F-150 is the best selling truck in NA, and who knows for how long more. We are selling less trucks than previous years, we have lost the crown temporarily to GM in a couple of months, and Americans have less disposable income (courtesy of the current administration in the White House).

But let's say we are going to have the best selling truck forever. Did you realize in the last quarter how all the profits of ICE were almost swallowed by the Model E losses? Sure, that's not a big deal, if not for the $150 billion dollars debt the company has. A debt that will take over 20 years to pay back at the current interests and profits (after shutting down Model E).

Even with the best product in the market, the company has to borrow money to pay the salaries, to pay utilities, to pay for the parts, and other costs needed to make the product. No money means no product. No product means no best selling product.

The company can still avoid bankruptcy if they cut very deep the losses. Meaning shutting down all the money pit programs, including most of Model E and Next, reduce the management ranks, improve quality. However, since we still have the same inept "leadership" that put us in this bad situation, it is safe to assume that the nonsense will continue. Ergo, Ford will close down its doors eventually, if they keep walking down this path.

BTW, "gargantuan" does not mean "invincible", and about Ford being enormous... we are becoming smaller every year.

Just marking time and cashing checks tell retirement. Ford management hates that I exist and wants me to quite so they can send my engineering job to Mexico.

It is a joke when these clowns say 'Ford is going down, man'. 'They'll be bankrupt within # years, man - mark my words.' And of course, it never happens.

Ford isn't going anywhere. We are a gargantuan company with the best selling truck on the planet.

If you don't like the way the Ford Family is running things then you should start your own automobile manufacturing company and beat Ford at their own game!

This just gets old. How many times have we heard Ford won't be around in X years? But they are, no matter how poorly they perform, they always seem to dig themselves out.

Leadership Focused on future success, really???? . Only thing they are focused on is self preservation and posturing to get attention away from them self and hide the incompetence. Hence reason for friends and family management structure. they protect t each others back and preserve their positions. Never seen the morale so bad in 32 years. They destroys a once grate company. So sad!!

Did you even listen to the Global Town Hall? That's not the conclusion I drew from it. Leadership is focused on future success.

There is no retirement, so yeah, it’s all about the paycheck. After all, they have no qualms about offshoring US jobs to the lowest bidder. Why should I be loyal to Ford?

Management is doing a terrible job. If changes are not made I think we have a problem.

A future has the prerequisite of a strategy and plan of action. We have neither.

When Ford treats their US employees with such disdain, would it be of any surprise that the majority of said employees are just here for the check?
