Been nice being employed, I guess. To those layed off so far, what was your meeting invite name? Not even going to be hopeful, I know I'm being laid off, but I'm curious how it happened for others.

@1vyj+1rJuyXLO And have everyone not being laid off frantic and worried until when? IMO, it’s best to communicate with everyone. I waited 48+ hours just to be told I would face no changes and, frankly, wish it were sooner.
It’s funny that in a reorg that looks to streamline the company and remove redundancies, the company is having managers meet with people to tell them there are no changes for them in neither role, function or manager.
Why not spend the time notifying those affected only and save the worry and time from those that aren’t?
You can't tell from the title of the request what the outcome might me. I am a Director and I made all the calls individually myself for all levels below me even when I could have done small teams for the people not impacted. I had a few of each type of situation, but since I was the face of the decisions it made sense to own it and give each person an opportunity to have their say in private and to say thank you for doing their best during a difficult time while things were being sorted out. It may not have made some of the decisions easier to hear for the impacted people, but the buck had to stop somewhere.
Monday, 3/25, I received a call from the office of the president since I’ve been out on medical leave since October 2023. 6 minutes to say my role was eliminated and HR will be in contact. Still no contact.
Mine didn't even have the decency to send me a Zoom invite. He just ping me and told me his zoom credentials and said to jump on a call, he needs to talk to me. Laid off. C13.
People: "Catch-Up" is new the Corporate Dystopian Double-Speak because Citi knows that employees are aware of the "Quick-Connect" or "15 Minute" BULLSH!T meetings that actually mean "YOU'RE LAIDOFF !" "Catch-Up" is the new Euphemism.
Was told I would be moving to a new team a month ago. No communication after that announcement, as everyone is super busy this quarter .
Got "catch up" invite yesterday about 3 hours prior to the meeting. Called into the meeting in the state close to a heart attack (I am not a young person, finding a new job would be hard) . Was told they wanted to confirm the new structure and gave a quick overview of a new team's composition. Not a word about new responsibilities.
I guess, they have to communicate in case an employee is affected by the restructuring in any way, but why it should be nerve wrecking ?!
Chill, they have instructions to communicate to everyone what the situation is
"No change" is the most common one.
50/50. I had the same thing, and was just restructured up a level on the tree. Know others who were let go with similar meeting titles.
“Catch up”. Super clever!
1-1 with director. Other meetings were "catch up" for the re-org.
If your boss who setup meetings is SVP or VP you are safe. If director then you are gone
Quick catch up and lay off
Quick catch up
Mine said "quick call". Knew I was toast then.
Phase 4 was in the subject, and no layoff
You actually might be ok, as they might want to let you know that phase 4 is in October...
