Essentially they’ve already started looking for the new CEO. Once the BOD has selected the successor, he’s out. Seriously doubt whether he’d get fired outright a month or two before the announcement. Optics wouldn’t look good and Hans is on the BOD of VZ itself.

How embarrassing, if the current CEO is no longer welcomed? For the second time in his life. I would be humbled and still continue to do even a better job and finish what was started.

Do the honorary last few things and immediately only accept VZ $1/annum for a salary.

Reminded of all the damage and their direct correlations to the negative impacts to the livelihoods of all the VZ employees.

Times have changed as competition is fiercer contrasting the previous two CEOs you laud. The task is very simple, exploit, the four quadrants, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and strengths -- but there is no VZ planning and no VZ execution.

As previously, it is no longer about digging trenches and physical work, as advocated by the industrial revolution. This is the new and modern economy requiring wherewithal, deeming more brain power and less physical work.

Time is of the essence. I am reminded of a Harvard professor who lent commentary amongst others, segment of Nightly Business Report, NBR, PBS, "speed conquers/ki-ls" is the mantra for today's modern economy, the post-industrial society.

There is d-mb and there is d-mber and the current CEO is with the six-letter word. And it could be argued that its still could be the d-mbest, the worst, seven letter word.

Time have changed and competition is fiercer then the two CEO you laud. The task is very simple, four quadrants, weaknesses, opportunities, threats, and strengths -- there is no planning and no execution.

With Hans sharing that he is looking for his successor it would be id--tic for the board to kick him out.

What is a pip, performance improvement plan?

The VZ CEO is not a W-2 employee?

He’s had an air of desperation in recent ‘appearances’. He’s on a Pip and set to get developing again, I think he knows he’s done. That being said who takes over, Sampath??

Golden parachute's dont have pre-conditions?

Hence, this is an unconditional golden parachute, $40M?

He worked his way up through the Swedish company's ranks until, in 2010, he became the vendor's first CEO who didn't have a background in engineering. But Ericsson ejected Vestberg in 2016 following a string of poor financial results and a slide in the company's share price.

Hans has a golden parachute of $40M, he walks away fine. We are the screwed ones. Noticed how we don't hear cr-p from him? Where is his constant message of all hands on deck? Where is his ability to come up with a better plan than reshuffling the deck? Guy needs to go.

CEO's contracts are subject to termination for lack of performance. Severance pay can be withheld. Most likely, made a formidable interview. In this case it is a clear case of incompetence. However, the wrong and the worst person for the VZ CEO job!!!

I asked the same question below, how/what about the interim until a suitable permanent successor can be found willing to take the difficult job to right the ship?

Frankly, no experienced CEO would want this job to correct this mess.

Hans isn't going anywhere. They don't have anyone to replace him. Also, what does his contract say? I'm sure the company has to pay him millions if they let him go.

The current CEO is a dunce. This also includes the full suite of EVPs selected by HV.

Good original post. Does this board-of-directors really have the conviction to remove and fire this current CEO? Who would be the interim CEO? The current CFO, mistakenly appointed by HV, being replaced has no found long-term successor?

Who would want the VZ CEO job with all this VZ mess and hardships?

No future CEO wants to deal with unionized labor?

There is already a search for a new CFO & CEO. I don’t know what more you’d like to see at this point. Those things take time. It’s a foregone conclusion that HV is heading out.
