+ don't forget that there are many small leeches that go under the cover of 'strategic investment' much like 'we are needed for 6g'. These leeches are so small, they keep renewing their survival term very LR by claiming that they are only taking a sliver off the budget and hold a big potential for future. For example, look at QC's attempts at incising into 4g/5g infrastructure side. Utter failure. It is only now that 4G infra got ki-led, well almost. Qualcomm has become like this ravine where some beavers are managing to hold on to their secret silos. Mgmt. would do a favor to us, the productive ones, by sealing these silos off!

@1kpl: You do have a point. Both Q and Intel needs to be broken up. Both companies are full of money pits (of course, not as big as Google money pits). Both QTL and QCT can be trimmed and margins can be easily improved by 100%. Layoff the losers in PgM and PdM and Corp Mktg. There needs to be a consequence for losing customers left and right. And no, excuses like "5g-ecosystem-did-not-pickup" or "economy" or "we-are-needed-for-6g" does not fly. Absorb worker bees in ESG (brilliant minds BTW) into QRD.

But it is not going to happen. Vested interests. But if this indeed goes through, QTL, QRD and Intel IP could remain in one holding company for national security reasons. QCT should be spun off to BRCM/AVGO - only Hock Tan can take the chainsaw to QCT and get rid of the deadwood.

CA has wanted some kind of payback on Intel since the Fruit lawsuit. Not sure if he is 100% serious with his offer, but it no doubt got Tim’s attention.

I can't see it happening, if only because regulatory bodies would have a heart attack. But man, if it did happen, that would be HUGE.

The Chinese gov will not approve. So, it will not work. U will see both sides wasting more money and not ending up a deal

It's a good idea. Intel takes over Q, gets rid of CA. Win-win.
