It’s sad to see where Oxy is now. Very sad indeed. Oh well, VH was going to have repercussions with her management style sooner or later. Glad I’m out of that mess.

I don't care if they know I didn't send a letter. I doubt they have the ability or desire to go on this kind of a witch hunt. If they retaliate against someone for failing to send a letter, then shame on them. If they would fire me for refusing to participate in a political lobbying campaign, then I don't want to work for them anyway. My dignity and my right to free expression are worth more to me than my salary. I do support the oil and gas industry, but I refuse as a matter of principle to allow my employer to coerce me into political activities. I will support the industry on my own terms.

If VH and our horrible management can't lead this company successfully without a government bailout, then maybe we should fail. I don't want to lose my job, but luckily I'm in a field where I can find more work, even if the entire industry collapses. Our industry as a whole has problems, just like our company. Maybe some of these companies need to go out of business in order to move forward, including Oxy. I will NOT be writing a groveling letter to our representatives to save our horrible management. So if Oxy gives me my pink slip some day, I'll live on my savings until I find something else someday, at a much better run company, and the sun will rise again. Just not on Oxy.

The first couple of sentences just seems like we are begging and have no pride. For the EC to put their employees in this place is a disgrace. Try and make me feel bad for myself and my co-workers is a joke. After reading the first few sentences I was so p-ss-d I wanted to throw my monitor out the window. The last thing I need is someone telling what I need to do to save my job and keep Oxy going. She might as well of told us to stand on a street corner with a "Work for Food" sign. Just total embarrassment from the leaders of the company. They are getting us all ready for massive layoffs, and don't be surprised if you get a letter when your laid off about government help you can get and no severance. The virus is giving them all the excuses they need to get rid of people and then cover their reputations if they even have one at this point.

Not only am I NOT sending a letter, I did not even click on the email link. I absolutely will not ask my congressman to bail out a company that ended up in the &h!t hole their own incompetent management is responsible for. My tax dollars already support a bunch of dead weight. They cut my salary, now they want a part of my tax $ too?
Its so embarrassing to work for this company, its hard to even list Oxy on my resume. And based on the last 2 emails we received from her, I am convinced that VH has NO CLUE of the irreparable damage she has done, and that only a very few a**kissers stand behind her. The Emperor(ess) has no clothes.

You really think Oxy’s IT could pull off determining who sent it and who didn’t? Good one!

Something to consider; OXY will know if you don't send a letter.

The only thing that will get your congressman's attention is a fat check or bank transfer.

I've written to my congressmen (or congresswomen) before, and every time it did absolutely no good. Maybe a large volume of letters will make a difference to our local congressmen, but my letter will not be the one that sways congress to do something or not. Waste of time, and it's just pandering to government handouts instead of focusing on how we should be saving this f—ng company ourselves!

So that you can prepared for the volatility... of reorgs and layoffs upcoming. I do sincerely encourage LOXY to write that letter please. Clearly VH or Board doesn't have a clear plan on how to get us out of this mess they created, other than wait and see, and yes, writing to your Congressman. So much for Calculated Risk! We do what others can’t! Saving pennies on salary cuts wont be enough to pay at the Omaha Buffet! Seriously, write that letter to show your Sense of Urgency and Engagement! 🤨

Maybe next she will ask us to write form letters to Carl Icahn to beg him not to take over the company.

A government bailout will not save you or your jobs. Oxy will get the benefit of the cronyism in the form of additional subsides and tax breaks, ensuring the executives can keep their undeserved pay structure and you’ll still get the boot. Making its all more contentious especially after losing 30% of your pay and now being told to throw away whatever is left of your dignity and beg the government for a handout.

lol - she is delusional; she would love to have the government bail her out of her self-made fiasco. The companies that were healthy before the crash will be healthy after. The diseased and unhealthy companies need to crash and burn.

I'm LOXY, so I'm sorry, but I won't be sharing the email. Why doesn't one of the LAPC folks share it? That way if they're let go, at least they get their CoC. I need the job, 30% pay cut and all, since I'm not covered by a sweet severance package.

Be careful sharing company emails that may be frowned on. I agree on LOXY layoffs can be read into the email.

“Help me and my Oxy coworkers save our jobs” is just a creative way of them letting legacy Oxy employees know to expect another round of layoffs.

What a joke. So they want us, the hardworking rank and file, who they just pay cut 30%, to send an email asking our government to provide Oxy “liquidity” with our tax dollars. You could have provided yourself liquidity by not taking on $40 BILLION worth of debt with an ill-timed acquisition! Get real!

I encourage all employees to send an email to management telling them to provide us liquidity by giving us our pay back!!
