New Round of Offer Letters Coming in Ireland

Those that declined will get another chance. These letters will have more RSUs. Sign date extended to Jan 31. Should hit your inbox soon.

Clearly acceptance rate was not what they wanted. The need to compete with the severance package for tenured staff.

Now the deadline has past, folks are starting to say if they have declined or not more openly.

A lot of people are going.
Site is going to be a different world in 4 weeks.

RIP VMware Ireland.

"You’re assuming that he will stay for that long"

Best thing that could happen for VCF. I hope you're right.

Ah to all you id--ts below saying your name is on a list… people aren’t exactly dying to work for broadcom, they need all the help they can get.

I feel sorry for those who accepted and previously declined - your name is certainly on a list now.

Broadcom fails to grasp that the issue extends beyond mere financial considerations. Issuing a revised offer after the acceptance or rejection deadline highlights inadequate leadership. To advance in your career, it's advisable not to accept such an offer. Broadcom requires individuals who execute tasks prior to partners being fully prepared to handle cases. RSUs seem illusory; committing to years of pressure until payout is uncertain. It's likely the next wave of layoffs will occur before RSUs materialise.

Hilarious.
Was it just people who rejected the offer? Or people yet to accept?

There was a week to accept the offer? So this offer came in before the deadline?

Stating the obvious
It's well known that HT had final say in what the division's were but it's up to each GM appointed to run and to be profitable, that's widely known so of course those decisions were made internally leading up to acquisition but it is BC who had say in the terms contained in letters issued and the figures included. Not sure what your point is.

Whoever thinks decision was done by HT or employees of Broadcom, you're naive. Top level decisions were done >6 months ago at EMEA SVP levels. Now that we're part of BC for months, it's clear it's all the work of your own senior directors and above. We've had multiple all hands at SD, VP, SVP levels after official close. It's clear BC does NOT decide on how EMEA, VCF, etc run. None of it random, as it's done by insiders.

Add to that the fact that some employees are being offered totally different roles, ignoring their skill sets and competencies up to now. Beggars belief really, with not even new job descriptions or anything in writing. Nada. This whole saga will be a textbook chapter in how not to do a takeover in years to come.

2 extra rsu's before tax every vest period over 48 months isn't going to change my decision. Half arsed, half brained, empty gesture.

You’re assuming that he will stay for that long…

The word "stay" implies that the choice is his.

I think "will be employed" may better state the fact.
If he cannot find a company a friend has infected already, he's at the mercy of Broadcon.

Getting terminated by Broadcon as the GM of a business unit will not help his prospects -- unless a friend infects another company and brings him in.

Bangalore do not have the same level of ethics and acumen that is required to nurture and take care of top tier customers.
Fact!!!!

Octane don't care. That's the biggest fact. Octane can't tell the difference between good and bad support personnel. He can tell the difference between cheaper and more expensive though.

Thanks for the cash Hock and thanks for the transition contract where I'll be doing even less work than I've done over the last 12 months #moneyfornothing

Don't think BC understand main reason why people are declining. Adding in more stock over 4 years might not be good enough. Staff do not trust BC or anything they are saying. The promise of a bit more money every three months won't change that.

At the start people were told welcome letters are non negotiable, BC changing just shows how flippant they are. If they can change offer letters so quickly, he-l knows what else they are capable of. The sudden switch is more thought for concern.

They have truly f**cked up showing how underhanded they are.

I hope employees in other EU countries get benefit of this in advance. That BC take this sh!t show into consideration, give respectable offers and stop playing with people.

Am I correct they sent new welcome letters to those that have declined initially too? Sounds like they are finding it hard to convince people to stay.

They will make you resign in next 12-months so no severance. They're just buying more time to "re-structure" what they see fit.
Not sure what legal side of something agreed after consultation ends.

These letters will have more RSUs. Sign date extended to Jan 31.

Be wary. Like a stray cat being called by a thuggish human in a back alley.

50% of you will still be gone in a year, and you'll never be able to vest or cash out most of the potential value of the stocks.

Broadcon is conning you into joining so the numbers meet the goals.
Next quarters, and next next quarters goals will be different, so some more humans (aka 'numbers in a spreadsheet'), worldwide, will have to go.

Goodbye VMware Cork. It was glorious spending the past 11 years with you.
RSUs mean nothing. A company that values it's employees means more.
I'll take my 100k+ and walk thank you.

"They will low-ball the folks that have already accepted ... "

not really, everybody who stays gets more RSU, even if you were an early acceptor

Funny, no one on my team who rejected have seen any new offer letters out as yet with additional RSU's.

They have me 36 RSU in the first offer letter, now 56. Lol while I’m still completely and utterly undecided, this really isn’t going to change me mind one bit

Post ID: @pbm+1qL4t16d

How much more RSU did they offer? Don’t count on actually vesting them tho - they lay people off in serial rounds.

Post ID: @unx+1qL4t16d

The difference in RSUs is fairly hefty actually
.... I know of a good few who are changing to acceptances now (me included)

Capped at 2yrs - you will to have about 17yrs service to reach that payout

They will low-ball the folks that have already accepted as they know they have them by the short and curlys. Throw them 10 or 15 Shares over 4 years and maybe add 50 to those that declined already as a sweetener
Still can't see it working
