I was also part of 2900 layoffs in Oct. I was able to find work after3 months. Sometimes you have find some work to help pay bills until you get something better. Good luck.
Still looking-part of initial 2900 layoff announced in October. I was part of Aetna...
I think it su-ks out there now...

After I was laid off, I found something relatively quickly. But things have changed, and as mentioned below the white collar jobs are saturated with applications due to it being in a recession. I found success through trial and error.
- Hybrid is a thing now. Realistically it is very difficult to find full time WAH. Research companies that have embraced it if that is what you want.
- WAH positions on job sites are VERY competitive and receive a lot of applications. Therefore the hiring manager has the advantage to pick the cream of the crop.
- Search in your field of expertise and within your geographical area. This will give you a competitive edge. It is not really a great time to change careers and search for that new adventure, unless you are willing to take a pay cut.
- Ensure your resume contains key skills the hiring manager is looking for. Otherwise AI will kick you out quickly.
- Contract work is not all bad, many lead to full time employment. Ask if that is what you’re seeking.
- When you land that interview be prepared. Do your research. Winging it will not starve you well.
- Lastly, be patient and do not take rejection personally. The job market ebbs and flows. We are in a tight market right now. It’s not you, just the market.
Hope this is helpful and best of luck!
I was part of the layoffs this past fall...I decided to wait until after holidays to look, so I just started.
I did utilize the "job service" they provided: took a couple refresher courses and had a one on one regarding resume building but they had no jobs of interest or in my area.
I'm not very optimistic right now especially in Northeast area...

If you work at CVS IT- you’re doomed because of the imported h1b contractors you’re surrounded by everywhere. Congrats you’re d-mber now too. Good luck in your search
I started looking awhile ago and was making connections with recruiters. I landed a new role after about 3 mths of serious looking, 9 mths passive looking.
More like progressive offshoring. Looks REALLY good on paper ...
Depends on what you did.
Businesses are the same across competitors, but r9les are limited.
IT is not the same. Neither Aetna nor CVS focused on proper IT scaling. Other companies are miles ahead.
Fig 6 mos to a year.
We are in a white collar recession.
