Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

This "little-miss-goody-two-shoes" has stopped caring all-together. It's clear there is nothing to be gained here. Oracle is a dump, no one would want to work there.

Don't look back. it is useless and futile. Take what you learned and move on, even if it what NOT to do, at least you've learned how not to do it. You are interviewing, that's good. Now take the best offer for you, pull the trigger and don't look back. I understand why you've been so long. Sometimes it is inertia, sometimes it is fear of the unknown (the devil you know), sometimes you like the work and the people around you for a while but hated the corporate culture. But for whatever the reason, it is past time to snap out of it and get out while you are still in a good position to do so. Get those offers, make your decision and keep moving. That is what you need to do and can do. No more excuses, just get it done

I know, I was close to something like three years ago. I got out and I cannot imagine it has gotten anything but exponentially worse.

So many companies are hiring and you haven’t gotten let go so you most likely do have some skills that other companies can use. Oracle is a terrible terrible place to work. I enjoy working with men and women, but my lord, it’s like these people are stuck in the 80’s with how they act and just do the same stuff the same way over and over. Oracle’s cloud will never touch AWS and MsFT. They are considered the “secondary cloud” option at my company. Like one poster said. Just move on and let them cannibalize each other. Even the culture is just so nasty. People who enjoy “big timing” people. Like i said on one post before. It’s really good they don’t go in the offices any more cause I can imagine by now someone would’ve went off. That’s what these managers don’t realize, people aren’t thinking straight and will just go off. HR can’t save you when someone is at your throat. My two cents.

It's not just you. Leaders at Oracle don't care about customers or employees. No one cares. And no one cares that no one cares.

If you see how few new comments that are being posted on this board, and how old the existing comments are, that is a good indication that you are right, people don’t care any more.

I was like you at one point but picked up the courage to leave. What held me back was I wasn't confident in myself to be successful at another job. I went ahead and bit the bullet and grabbed a job I was not that thrilled with but which I saw was a stepping stone to something that would be of interest to me. I really hated that next job but it gave me some skills that helped me get the final job that I really enjoyed. If you hate the job that much, status quo is never the answer. You may actually have to cycle through even two or three more jobs to get to that "dream" job. Or after working those other jobs, you might come to realize your current situation may not have been all that bad.

But he's got a point doesn't he? Ten years at Oracle isn't exactly a good look now is it?
