Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

I wish I could leave

Under 40 years old but have 15 years in claims here. I've been well-salaried over the years and because of it can no longer get out. Im willing to take a pay cut for freedom and happiness but I'd be reducing my salary by 25% on the conservative side to be picked up by another insurer or shop for comparable work, which in the end, may only be a negligibly better work environment.

Those wondering why some of us are still here, why we're not leaving despite the aggravations and the constant bickering? I worked my way into a position of an above average salary and worked hard to support this company, and the wage I was receiving. And because of it I've positioned myself outside being able to attain comparable compensation elsewhere, so I'm left to manage the pieces still here and hope that I'm not part of the next RIF wave

Is it better to live miserably or to take a risk and find something better? Which there are more jobs in this world besides Allstate. Sounds like you are convincing yourself if all the reasons why you should stay.

OP would be surprised if they actually tried. They're just making excuses for their complicity.
