Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

Boycott managaement forums at BTC

Show up, don’t ask questions. Empty slido, zero q and a would be a great way to show solidarity in the mistrust in LT. Don’t we all already know answers to most questions? And that there will never be any action?

To them we are just cheap labor, who have the uncomfortable job of working insecure Houston counterparts, while getting zero training, while getting below market pay, while not getting the most common Indian benefit given by all employers i.e. parental insurance cover, while tolerating worthless expat ‘leaders’, do all the low quality manual work while others take credit etc.

These are real issues which are not getting addressed inspite of increasing attrition. The management is arrogant and proud of their accomplishment of stuffing 1000s of employees into BTC as if that magically solves all problems. Had to beg for any medical support during covid, thanks for caring.

Next LT meeting coming soon.

If you don’t pander to Mr Rice
You end up paying the price
Dare you slander Mr Rice
You’ll end up playing your career with dice
Come and say with him #weareexxonmobil
For It’s attractiveness is same as Chernobyl
workplace drama has infighting and toxicity
That’s the charm of his Bengaluru City
Folks who are told they do repetitive tasks
And in their success the manager basks
Don’t you go against Mr Rice
For you will end up paying the price

Let me know if you want more from this u known poet who wrote this sitting by his fireside

“That means 125 hours a week for 52 weeks or $422,500 a year to stroke his ego.”

@1cvw+1bjktexy

Holy sh-t, thats half a million in value add right there. Make sure you let the Sup know. Impressive, you should get atleast an excellent rating right for this post. This and what else is impressive is the accurate $65/hr rate assumption which the poster assumed.

Though as Indian employees you get paid at most 20% of this on average. The rest goes into paying for the villas and drivers and business class business trips of expats. Do quick math to calculate the tiny fraction of this you get paid and whatever happens to rest in the name of ‘additional costs’ of running BTC.

Several millions wasted every year. Hope they are bringing the ‘culture’ with that amount of money. Which could very well be used to hire top of line management and technical staff from the Indian market at attractive pay, but we’d rather only pay peanuts to locals.

This is well thought out EM strategy, no kidding

Wait you don’t enjoy the weekly chats thats which is now a data dump and shaming session at best. Even better were precovid meetings where there was a dramatic rising of work stations and the team dialed into zoom calls while standing only a few feet apart.
Don’t worry with the return/rush to office coming soon, we will be back to this soon. This return will also unleash the mask patrol by management and minions threatening to discipline anyone daring to draw a breathe of fresh air during a long work day.

Bad RTO plans till now, add common sense, empathy and data interpretation to the improvment area list

OP are you suggesting that we allow a pompous speech by an unqualified megalomaniac with no questions and a captive audience? We call those fireside chats @ BTC Surface, where a stupid 'bag of Rice' demotivates the workforce with his vision (blind as a bat), stale cards and RTO plans. 15 min meetings every week, really wastes a full 30 mins for 250+ employees a workweek. That means 125 hours a week for 52 weeks or $422,500 a year to stroke his ego.

Surface manager improvement areas include "inspire and motivate"

None of these forums , BTC and others across XOM, will ever provide real answers to real questions. . They are a farce to show upper management they are communicating with we the peasants. In addition it’s a ego trip for the kings and queens of management to be on “stage” and the center of attention.
With the ever growing cast of characters in the BTC leadership positions this will only get worse so buckle up.

The only Slido question worth posting is: "Why ask people to post questions since you do you not reply?"

Also forced PIP are coming up in a month, exciting times ahead. Several emoloyees will be fired under disguise of MLRP, and even more will get hired the next month. This is called brilliant planning and amazing management by the great LT.

These forums are a waste of time anyway, they are now literally forums to train management to dodge difficult questions. You won't get anything out of them as an employee. It's better to spend the time to job hunt instead.

Or go the opposite route…which might be more entertaining:

Tell us, how are you such a winner?

We love what you’ve done with the company! What’s next?

Can we all get cowbells? When we see someone exhibit winning behavior, we’ll ring them really loud!

I’ve never felt like my career has more potential! When is the second wave of HW3 coming?

How can you keep getting all these great employees to resign? The building used to be so crowded. Now it’s like walking through an endless meadow.

Wow, Dallas exhibits such confidence and flawless decision making. We’re clearly the ones screwing it up. How can we be better?

Nah, you got it wrong. Google ‘Questions to ask your CEO’ and throw them one of those:
What do you expect from your employees?
What is one thing you would change about the company?
What do you do during a typical day?
…and my favorite….
How does upper management communicate with staff?
