Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Qcom realtors

There are still many employees at Qualcomm who are working as realtors, using office hours to serve their real estate clients. Some of their managers are even partners in this side business. The upper management should take action and terminate these employees without a severance package, as their inefficiency is contributing to a decline in Qualcomm's year-over-year profit margins. If you notice anyone spending time on their real estate business during work hours, please inform your team managers and HR anonymously.

Let the realtors get death by thousand cuts. It will be too late when they realize. GenAI is leading to reduction in hc across the board at every company.

Property investment is a business and that is not fine, as is being realtor. Both are separate from Qualcomm job. Conflict of interest. Plain and simple.

Property investment is fine, everyone should do that. It's a great wealth accumulation vehicle.
Working as a realtor, while working full time at QC, and using the office hours for writing contracts, negotiating, showing homes? That's a real issue! What is up with these folks? Why is HR quiet? There are dozens of these agents running around the city showing properties.

In this day and age, no one's job is secured. If you're not breaking employment contract rules and the Q work is valuable, then what's the problem?

Report anonymosly. Otherwise the people in position of power will add you to the layoff list.

While it's important to ensure that all employees are focused on their work during office hours, addressing concerns about side activities should be handled carefully and respectfully. Instead of focusing on the personal lives of colleagues, we should encourage a culture of transparency and accountability. If there are genuine concerns about efficiency and work performance, these should be discussed directly with the individuals involved or brought to the attention of management through appropriate channels.

Let's aim to foster a supportive work environment where issues are addressed constructively and everyone feels respected. Reporting colleagues anonymously should be a last resort, and we should strive to handle matters professionally and with integrity.

They need not look beyond emails in homes and realestate invest mailgroups. Principal and above are buying homes only for renting out.

In the last lay offs few realtors were laid off after receiving the complaints by HR. Hopefully they take more action in the upcoming layoffs

Q is not a company where you can retire from anymore. Need to be creative and buy the properties to fund retirement. What’s the harm in that? Work is going to get done anyways :)
Property buying doesn’t really need a realtor

Many using Q salary to buy 2,3,4, and more investment homes for rental purpose only and then get rents from Q employees and reduce inventory in market. All on Qualcomm time including rental portfolio management. They are looking for their future beyond Q. Help them by sending to their investment property.

I agree, lot of them becoming real estate brokers, even they use office computers, printers for their business. I know few people and complain to HR next week. Let’s everyone do this.
