Thread regarding VMware layoffs

Major news coming tomorrow

As you know, VMware is mostly off tomorrow and Broadcom relises that all to well. It's a perfect moment for the next big announcement; or double announcement should I say.

The ship has sailed on plan A but the work towards plan B is just ramping up.

One acquisition ends, and another one begins.

There can be news today. The markets are open. Also, remember, the deal was originally announced over a holiday.

Spot on

The only card left is whether MD or HT have some serious senior level govt lobbyists or family connections. And since the deal didn't close yet, it sure seems like they do not.

Biden and Xi are scheduled to meet Nov 17 (Fri). Those talks will last likely 1-2 days. So that would leave just Nov 20 - 26 (6 days) for SAMR to finish "consulting" with the State Council and Foreign Ministry.

Does anyone seriously think they'll come to a decision in that time? No bc they don't give two sh--s about BC, Hock, Dell, or VMware.

China wants American companies to be dependent on them for revenue. As this makes them more likely to lobby on behalf of China. This deal reduces BC's reliance on them, by reducing their China revenue from 33% to roughly 25% of total revenue. Since VMware makes little money in China and BC makes roughly VMW's total revenue just in China. Plus, this could result in higher prices for Chinese companies for to BC bundling of products. So what's China's incentive to approve??

This deal will either get extended more or collapse. Mark my words. *Fyi for all those thinking "oh Hock and Dell have plan B, cause they're soo fu--ing smart".

No bi--h, neither of them have a plan B. Besides bowing down to the CCP and kissing as many feet as humanly possible and praying they don't ki-l this acquisition.

I doubt Broadcom is off, don’t believe he is much a fan of veterans. MD does not let his people off.

The Plan A - close the transaction seems to be full speed ahead.

The plan was never to get china's approval. Listen to what Hock Tan said. Stop right there. Think about it.
